Compton Builders

As I reported to the Better Business Bureau, one has to differentiate between the job, itself, and the process of working with the owner of Compton (he claims.) He is aggressive and a bit of a bully. He is secretive from his labor crew, who seemed very competent and several of whom only recently began work with him, suggesting turnover. He wanted to be paid the several thousands in cash, i.e., currency, first refusing to accept a check, but we persisted. He alienated our neighbors, tore out the electrical connection for one and the Comcast cable for the whole street; he parked his vehicles in front of driveways, and assured us that he had taken care of city permitting – which we learned from city inspectors that he had not. Moreover, the inspector said they had had problems with Compton’s cavalier attitude toward permits. The driveway appears well and neatly done. But basis of working with Compton, we would not hire them again.
