We had several Quantum wood windows from the 90's that experienced wood rot. Chosen evaluated each type of repair and developed a refurbishment plan. Hunter and Genaro brought all the repair parts to the house and completed the repairs. They were very thorough and the windows function like NEW!

Excellent. I have used Chosen Wood Window Maintenance twice now and would never go elsewhere. If you have an older home as I do (1920s) with original windows, this is the place to go if you need restoration or repairs! Very efficient in providing an estimate for the work I needed and got me on the schedule in a very timely manner. They were very accommodating and even showed up early after I mentioned I would need to be leaving for work at a specific time of day. Flawless.

They were prompt, punctual, and stuck to their bid.  They maintained a pristine work area over the week-long job period, and returned quickly to correct a problem that developed after they had finished.  A MUCH cheaper and less invasive solution for our windows compared to whole-window unit replacement.

This was the second time I used this provider to do work on my double-hung wood windows and this second time was a nightmare.  The bid was details interms of with work to be done as the company specialized in old house and fixing and weather proofing windows.  When the did the they left my house and my windows did not close since the covers were to heavy - they did not anticipate this and they just left...I have to call and tell them my windows are not closing and then it took 2 more trips to fix it.  Then they did not complete the work on the bid, even after I sent picture of the window problems on the sashes themselves and got their recommendation and built their fix into the bid.  I had to argue over what work was actually done on the bid - just a total disconnect between the owner of the company and the staff on what work was to be one.  Also they say they can do the work, but in reality they cannot, especially if you are trying to keep your windows authentic to the time period. The owner himself came and chipped one of the sashes and then pulled to hard and cracked a piece of the old window trim.  Just a plain old miserable experience as I have to fix the wood sash, repair  the wall with plaster when the trim was ripped off and still take a window out repair a window.  They really do not care what the customer wants or even what is placed on the bid - they will do what they believe and charge for it regardless if the work was done for not.  Just horrible.

Shoddy workmanship NO SERVICE after the job was done to FINSIH the job they were supposed to doDid not repair  items that were obviously necessary and expectations were  these were included in the bid; the  worker  who did the bid and the job  indicated the windows would be "as good as new" and for $10,000  I did expect just that. Multiple issues  arose when we began the painting process in August ( due to the Seattle weather we did not    know of the issues  until this time...)Upon calling the  company  the owner   said he could come  the following year -   YEAR????   He had my money and i had rotten windows  and a painter lined up to  paint. This was not acceptable  and when I insisted a great dispute  began with him  acting like a total a**,  hanging up, refusing to  ever come.     With my husbands intervention he  agreed on looking at the problem  and set a date.  When they finally did  come ( WEEKS after initial calls)  upon arrival he took a quick look,   said all was ok   I   protested, and showed the  rotted wood sash  which   I   broke off a small piece of with my finger in front of him.  He declared   the  problem was  my own doing and no problem with the window repair. He  stomped away calling me obscene names. The window sashes  are still rotten  and he made absolutely no attempt  to resolve the issue.  As  charges had been made with VISA  retracting payments was attempted.    This  man never took ownership of  the  crap job his company did,  called me names, and was still able  to take off with my hard earned money.     The window sashes are still rotten  are still unpainted. This company should be out of business.

They explained the work very clearly when giving their bid (this work was part of a bid for other window work)  and completed the work quickly once we called them back. They specialize in maintaining and restoring wood window frames. We would have liked to have them do more work, but they were quite expensive, which is why we did not have them do the other work. If I could afford them, I would use them again.

For years we've been searching for an economical way to weatherproof and preserve our windows. I can't tell you how thrilled we are to have found Chosen Windows! Not only do we still have our 100+ year old glass, but they are working too, without ugly plastic tracking. Winter is now upon us and our windows are keeping the cold & wet outside where it belongs. I have to mention the crew - they were professional, clean, showed up on time and completed the job exactly when they said they would. We can't wait to bring these guys back to do the remaining windows. Two extremely happy customers, Carmen & Philip Seattle, WA

I called in response to an advertisement, and an estimator was scheduled to come out. He went through project, and gave me some alternatives depending on what I wanted to spend--basically number of windows I wanted worked on. The estimate was not perfectly clear on say if I wanted only 4 windows worked on rather than 6, but after calling, I decided on what to do. On scheduled day, two relatively you workers showed up with the list created by the estimator and discussed with the presumably owner when I called. Although the advertisement from which I got their name indicated that they would do work to preserve my windows, they worked only to get them fit with weather stripping. I thought they would reglue some of the sashes that were worse for wear because of exposure to the elements, but after requesting, that slapped a little caulking at the lose joints. I had one fixed pane window made into a opening sash which turned out to be very disappointing. The two guys who first did it, started on the wrong window, and when finished, it looked as if it was done by a beginner butcher. After submitting pictures to them, they saw what a butcher job it was an ended up replacing it with work done by the estimator, not the previous butcher. The initial guys had a very difficult time in setting the hardware and left holes created in guessing where to place it to work the right way. One hinge they installed, dropped off the sash within the month, and the weather stripping started falling out on another sash. One sash of a double sash window clearly needed major work, and the other less significant work--but clearly in need of repair. I didn't realize from the bid, that the estimator left off the sash not needing replacing--so I ended up being surprised in having to do an extra window. Subsequently, I used the Sashman for some other windows. I would never use Chosen again. I'm going to probably use Sashman to redo some of the windows done by Chosen

It's hard to find someone who will repair old wood windows - seems like everyone wants to just rip them out and replace them. Ours are 75 years old with leaded glass panes - replacing them just isn't an option. I finally found Chosen and they were great. It took a little bit of follow up on my part to get things scheduled originally, but once I did so everything went smoothly. They showed up at the scheduled time in their mobile workshop. I had them repair 12 casement windows of various sizes. Some were swollen open and wouldn't close all the way; others were painted shut, and all needed their hinges replaced. They took all of the sashes out, refitted them to the size of the opening, installed new hinges, added weatherstripping (something none of the windows had originally) and reinstalled them. All of the windows now work great. It took about a day and a half for two guys. They were very professional and did a nice job cleaning up after the work was done. I'm sure I'll have them back to do the rest of my windows.

Definitely got my money's worth. 2 men, 10 hours each, spread over 2 days. Quality work. Clean. Punctual. Final result is a very good copy of the identical window on the floor above. Would never know from appearance that so much removal and replacement work had been done. They provide a unique service. Most window companies only want to sell and install new replacement windows. This company has the expertise to repair the wood of old windows - a vital service if you want to preserve the character of an 80+ year old home.

We call them up and they come out when they say they'll be here. They then do the measuring and tell us when they'll come back to do the job. After that they come back and do the installation. They do a nice job.

They're a good company and reasonably priced. There are a few things... I guess I'm too anal. Windows have what they call spacers that hold it together and when you put the wood in front of it it's called a sash. I like the metal to be hidden behind the sash and their's don't. It kind of cheapens the look I think. Just beware the metal will show behind the sash.

Overall it went well. They replaced entire rotten sills and cut rotten wood from the outside and replaced them with fir. That preserved the appearance of the windows and the windows do not need stain for most part. Only replaced sills and sashes need stain. The repaired/rebuilt windows look great. Travis is meticulous and does an excellent job.

This company is very skilled and fixing dry rot problems with windows. They set up shop in your yard or garage and make pieces on site to replace the rotted wood. The person giving the estimate and the workers came on time. We were pleased with the work but a day or so later I noticed two gouges in the newly-refinished hardwood floor below the dormer window that had been replaced. Someone came out from Chosen right away to inspect the damage. We received an estimate of $500 for the repair. We had been thinking about replacing the picture window in the living room (cost $500), so Chosen agreed to do that for no charge. It took 1-2 months to get them back to do that. I was disappointed that the company did not tell us right away about the damage to the floor. Other than that we were happy with the work and the workmen were pleasant to work with.
