We had Cherry Creek replace two large exterior windows in our kitchen with operable double-pane windows. The initial meeting at the Cherry Creek showroom went very quick, and they helped us narrow down exactly what product would work the best. There wasn't a ton of communication between when we ordered the windows and when they were installed, so that part could have been improved. The actual installation was great. Enrique was super friendly, detail-oriented, and punctual. He removed the old ones, cleaned and sanded, installed the new ones, and took his time fine tuning them until they were perfectly level. Great work overall, and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Very good.
They sent an employee out initially to build the estimate. He was very helpful, informed, and offered many good suggestions.
Getting the estimate correct (diagrams, itemization) with the main office before accepting took some time and scrutiny. Some errors were made on earlier estimates, but communicating back and forth to get things correct was smooth. They were very communicative about what they needed and what my responsibilities were.
After acceptance, they sent another employee out to take measurements. He was a joy to speak with, was thorough, and, ultimately, was spot on with all measurements.
I dropped off some paint at their 45th ave location prior to install, and they painted all work before the install date. The sashes and storms were built locally at their Sodo warehouse.
I had mentioned to them that I would be especially happy if they were able to install prior to the New Year (the former windows were leaking a lot of heat). They pushed up my date and made it happen.
Installation took three days with two installers, both of whom were very nice, communicative, and flexible. I was impressed with the quality of their work. They cleaned up the premises, caused no issues with the location, and made my task of finish patching, priming, and painting the frames and stops very easy.
The windows look great, the rooms keep much warmer, the sound from outside is minimal, and I'm one very happy customer. They were efficient, honest, and the product is excellent.
If you are a homeowner looking to get your sash windows up-to-date and working well for you, the money is well placed working with Cherry Creek.

Instead of the 3.4 weeks they estimated, it took 7 weeks to get most of the work done. We had a previously-scheduled trip out of town at that point, so when we got back it took them another four days to install the remaining doors. In terms of price, they wound up charging us about twice what was in the contract. After much hand-wringing about whether we should hold them to the contract, we compromised at half of the labor overage (and full materials, as agreed).
The quality was disappointing. In spite of their assurances, they did not know the Victorian style so we had to constantly be checking and guiding their work. Often we would have to tell them specs multiple times because they would forget. They did not have good attention to detail: there were several instances where the quality of the work was shoddy and we had to insist that they redo it...and of course that was on the clock. Even now that it’s “finished,” we still have nail holes that are too obvious in the finish work.
The management of the project was also disappointing, in matters small and large:
In summary: Cherry Creek is fine for ordering and installing windows, but save yourself the heartburn and the money and don’t be tempted to hire them for anything else.

Even now that it’s “finished,” we still have nail holes that are too obvious in the finish work.
The management of the project was also disappointing, in matters small and large:
- * They did not think to erect a dust shield when they started, so the first several days there was much dust even in areas of the house not being worked on.
- * They used our furniture as work benches and tables.
- * They did not believe the stain recipe we gave them that we had used in an earlier phase of our remodel, so they tried to make their own but when that didn’t match, they wound up using ours, wasting time.
- * They tried to stain most of the pieces at the shop, which was a good idea, but as the project wore on it was obvious they had stacked the still-wet pieces on top of each other, so the stains had marks and had to be redone.
- * We got a salvaged door for one of the doorways we were replacing. Since it took them a few days to tell us it wouldn’t work, we couldn’t return it and got store credit instead. We found another salvaged door, and it took them a couple of weeks to tell us that that one wouldn’t work either, at which point we couldn’t even get store credit, were forced to order a new door from Cherry Creek, and thus had the final completion delayed.
- * When the final set of doors came, they initially forgot the hinges, so they had to come back another day (pretty surprising for a door company!).
- * Most surprisingly, the front door that we had them make for us was too short (they wanted to lower our existing transom above the door, even though we had agreed not to), and as we were running out of time, we chose to simply have them extend the door on the bottom rather than creating a new door. I regret that choice since the proportions of the door details are now off and it is obvious where the door was extended. Had the rest of the project gone closer to plan, I would have asked them to make a new door to the previously-agreed specs, but as it was, we were tired of the time, money, and stress we were spending to compensate for their deficiencies.
In summary: Cherry Creek is fine for ordering and installing windows, but save yourself the heartburn and the money and don’t be tempted to hire them for anything else.

We originally hired Cherry Creek in 2011 to unstick and re-cord the original windows in our 1926 house. Most of the windows had been painted shut by the previous owner and the cords had been cut, which made the house very warm in the summer. They did a great job opening the windows and getting them to operate then.
Since that time we have discovered that old windows that rely on weights, cord and pulleys to stay open are a little tricky and sometimes the rope comes off the pulleys if the windows are opened or closed too quickly. When this happened to us this summer we called Cherry Creek who came out within a day and fixed the issue. They were on time and polite and worked quickly which allowed me to get to work more quickly than I thought I would.

We had spent 2 years trying to figure out what to do with the beautiful but largely inoperable wood windows in our old house. We got estimates from a number of window companies for a wide variety of options (wood inserts, wood sash kits, clad inserts, all-fiberglass, fiberglas-clad, etc, etc). We ultimately decided to go with Cherry Creek for several reasons: 1) they have a nice showroom in Wallingford where you can see and try out a number of wood windows side by side, 2) their windows are gorgeous, and they really matched our old windows well, 3) they make their windows locally and you can tell that they really take pride in their work, and most importantly 4) they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me a product, I felt like they were trying to help me figure out what would work best for me. Cherry Creek's windows are a little more expensive than others that we considered, but I feel like we've gotten great quality, so it seems worth it. Overall, the people there have been a pleasure to work with, and we are thrilled with our beautiful new windows.

Purchased new retrofit windows. Good experience. High quality, and they followed through schedule-wise. The price is on the higher end, but so is the product. They have a delivery fee that seems a little high to me.

Cherry Creek Window and Door Company did great. The product that they installed is excellent. They were a little slow getting the job finished but I would still recommend them because of the quality of the product.

Very good quality, which you pay for but is worth it. Good communication from salespeople. Orders can take a while, but this is made clear up front. We painted the windows and our contractor installed.

Excellent experience! I was very impressed with their knowledge, advice, service, and product. These guys really know their stuff and care about quality. They gave me honest evaluations of the state of my windows. Others had insisted I needed to replace everything to drive up the price, but Cherry Creek gave me honest evals of what needed replacing and what didn't. Their showroom is tremendously helpful, and they have samples of leaded-glass windows and a thorough portfolio on hand for ideas. They gave me detailed painting instructions and specific product recommendations for finishing the windows; very helpful. Lastly, the installed windows are flawless. I'm not very pleased with the ones I had done by another company, and I wish I had hired Cherry Creek for the whole job. Their prices are high, but they are well worth paying for. Excellent work!

Not bad. It took way too many back-and-forths to work out the details (trim, color, size, etc.) for each order, which was very frustrating. However, the finished product looks beautiful. I've heard that earlier products from this company did not hold up well, so am hoping that their later work is better quality. So far, so good. We ordered more windows later, and had to call to find out when they were ready. They did not do the installation and forgot to include some of the parts we needed, but when we told them, they did provide the materials. Of course, we had to call to find out when it was available, and then go and pick it up ourselves.

When I called Island Storm Millworks, I learned that it had merged with (and taken the name of) Cherry Creek Window and Door Company. (Both outfits were apparently owned and operated by members of the same family.) However, it was still operating out of the same location and still specializing in replacing and rehabilitating traditional windows in older homes. Ken showed up at the appointment five minutes early. He inspected the windows far more carefully than the previous contractor I had had in. He gave me three options: contacting an interlock specialist, having Cherry Creek do rehab work, or having Cherry Creek install replacement windows. Knowing that we were prepping the house for sale, and given that the original windows were in generally good shape and added a lot of charm to the house, he recommended trying to fix them. He struck me as friendly, professional, informative, helpful, and honest.

We had an excellent experience with our window repair. The service was provided on time and on budget. The repair person was friendly and worked diligently. He even had to improve a bit when it was discovered our window was different from most windows. The work was very good quality, using good materials, and he even put a coat of primer paint on the sill without an extra charge. We were very happy with our service and would definitely hire them again.
