Adequate and gets the job done, but we've had issues. That said, your options are limited for phone/internet service. And we have had several service outages over the years we have used the company. The highlight was in 2014 when our service quit working ...no phone, no internet, nothing. It took multiple days for service to be restored, while we were being charged for service. We eventually discovered (through a very nice repair person who discovered the problem down the street while making a repair for another neighbor, saw our name on the list and reached out to us via our mobile phones since our home telephone was down) that numerous people in our neighborhood were without service. The reason - it appeared that a repair person was out fixing/connecting someone else's line several days before and just cut through the lines for multiple people, then closed up the connection box and left.
Nice job.
Today, we got a $235 bill for September with $6.00 late charge, no credit for their mistake on the internet, no credit for 3 months of faulty phone connection /service and the customer service recording says they are closed on weekends.
I am thinking that I would like to go with local company for internet, ie: Click, here in Tacoma.
Now she keeps getting a bill for "unreturned" equipment. When I call they "take care of everything" and then she gets another bill the following month.
The phone and internet service is bundled with direct TV. The first 3 months she was to have the premium channels free but she was billed for them. I called Direct TV and they gave her the credit but since it was just after their billing had been sent to Century Link it didn't show up.
After talking to Century Link we did not pay the $47, however it has shown up as late on every bill since then. Plus she is still getting the bill for her old account for the equipment she is still using.
The customer service people are really nice and polite but they have lied to me about her bills and what she is paying and now they are charging her $16 more than the original agreement.
When she first signed up with Century Link at her old address she purchased the modem and didn't have to pay rent on it. Now they say she didn't buy it so she is having to go through her papers and see if she can find the old bills or the information showing she did buy it.
I would really like to find a different service for her that won't cost her a bunch. I am just glad I can be here to make all the phone calls for her every month.
Finally after the phone was connected, I could test the internet. INTERNET didn't work! Which meant....at least another hour on the phone with tech support.
Internet service was inconsistent and I finally just cancelled service with Century Link completely. By the way, that was forty five minutes.
The employees don't listen, and I have to repeat myself many times. Half of the employees seemed like they hate their jobs.
AVOID AVOID AVOID CENTURY LINK LIKE THE PLAGUE.
