CAR TOYS INC

I made an appointment for "The Ultimate" car detailing package three weeks in advance and the person on the phone warned me they were down to one detailer, so it was good that I was booking early. About a week later, Car Toys called me asking if I could move my appointment up by an hour to make sure they could get it done in one full day - Did that. Checked in on the day of appointment and...they're taking walk-up appointments THAT DAY for detailing. Huh? Thought you only had one detailer? Check-in was bumpy, but OK, they're still being friendly and positive. They took my phone number, but at 2 hours before their closing time and I hadn't heard anything, I called them. Nope - car isn't ready for pickup - "It's done but it's not dry. You had the extra work done for the pet hair, right?" NO! I don't have a pet that rides in the car! "We promise it'll be ready tomorrow after 2pm." Grrrr...but OK. I show up at 2:15pm next day. "Um...our detailer didn't come in today, so the car isn't ready." (You didn't think to CALL ME with this information??) It was a lie that the car was "done but not dry"...Exterior had been detailed but interior hadn't been touched besides vacuuming the cargo area. I'm pretty upset, so they offer me a partial refund and the opportunity to come back another day to finish the work. Grrr...but OK. More fumbling at the cash register trying to figure out how to process the partial refund - and they they tell me they can't reschedule the appointment for me. They give me a business card of someone I should "call in a couple days...explain what happened, and he can reschedule you." WHAT??! You can't put this information in your system so that I don't have to plead my case with someone totally unfamiliar with this debacle? And why can't you make an appointment for me right now that I'm standing in front of you? Horribly run franchise; don't go here.

SALESPERSON WAS EXCELLENT-- HELPFUL WITHOUT BEING PUSHY. ACTUALLY STEERED US TO LESS EXPENSIVE ITEMS THAT BETTER SUITED WHAT WE NEEDED. INSTALL WAS LATE AND I HAD TO RETURN TWICE TO ACTUALLY PICK UP THE CAR.

THE STAFF TOOK THE TIME TO HEAR MY NEEDS, SHOWED ME A FEW DIFFERENT MODELS AND HELPED ME GET A GREAT DEAL.
