I paid Brown's over $26k for a durable and easy to clean floor in my medical clinic. It could not be any LESS durable or any harder to clean. It has been a nightmare, in just a few weeks it has taken holes from women walking in high heels (they actually suggested we ask patients to remove their shoes! Can you imagine?), in months it has already worn out where our exam table wheels roll up and down, it is already wearing down where the door skirt brushes the surface, and it has hundreds of scratches from our cleaning teams lightweight vacuum head and mopping. We told them about our concerns after the install and they said we "need to maintain it better" and only used approved Forbo product (which we do). We kept pressing every month or so after and they did nothing but come look and said, to paraphrase, "yeah, it seems pretty easily damaged...not our problem." They said they would come repair the damage, but nothing has happened. Then, 8 months later, it took the threat of getting a lawyer involved just to get Brown's engaged. They made a minimum effort to get Forbo, the manufacturer, to honor a replacement warranty, which Forbo of course skirted. When asked if they could press Forbo harder they told me I'd have to do it myself. I just got off the phone with the Forbo rep and he was appalled he had not been contacted earlier. He said he was just recently contacted. He was more than willing to dig deeper and was very concerned by the unusual fragility of the floor. He recommended I get an independant installer to come take a look. I'll will update with the verdict on that. The bottom line is that Brown's will not stand by their products, even if the floor is bubbling up on the edges and widening at the seams, they will blame anyone but themselves. Getting any support from them is like pulling teeth. There are many great installers that will stand by the durability of their products, Brown's is not one of them. Do yourself a favor skip right over this business. They will take your money and run. Photo 1: this is the wear and tear of a smooth wheel rolling over the "durable" flooring. Photo 2: This is where a dolly, loaded with about 30 pounds was rotated 180 degrees and sheared the layers of the "durable" flooring. Photo 3: This deep scratch in the "durable" flooring was caused by a plastic vacuum head, the kind almost every janitor uses.

Bob came out to measure and give me an estimate. He wasn't a slick salesman trying to give me more than I wanted or giving me a high price and then making me talk him lower (like Empire flooring does). He gave me their best price, which happened to be way lower than other estimates I'd gotten, and that was that. I hired them and they did a great job. The only issue I had was that they scratched some paint off the corners and a door in the hallway, and it was obvious. It was a tight fit in there, so I understand some scuffs, but it would have been nice if they offered to fix it or at least told me about it before I discovered the issue on my own and had to make an extra trip to get the painting supplies. Bob did apologize when I told him and said he would talk to the guys. Other than that everything was great and I'd use them again.

They did a fine job. They came when they said they would and they had to work around the weather. The only issue was that they were a little bit short on carpet. They made everything good but it delayed completing one area but it wasn't a big issue. I got 3 comparisons and they were the cheapest.

RJ at Brown's Interiors listened carefully as I described my project and what I was looking for. He led me to the basement storage area where they keep the in-stock vinyl and found exactly what I wanted immediately. That afternoon he was at my house taking measurements and assessing my needs. He was able to schedule the installation within a few days, the installers showed up on time and did their job with no fooling around. They even made a special trip to the store to get a new installation device for the toilet in order to put it back in place more securely. The result was a good looking and feeling new floor in both rooms, and the additional underlayment has steadied a little bit of shakiness in the house's structure.

Not only is Brown?s Interiors a quality carpet installation company; they are also a great group of people. Kairos Enterprises, Inc. (or ?we?) use Brown?s as often as possible for our jobs and will continue to do so, as they are an excellent company to work with and always provide us with fantastic results. As a matter of fact, we are so confident in and pleased with Brown?s that we used them for our personal flooring needs. Because of a flood in our basement, we needed to replace the carpet in two bedrooms ? and because of the lack of space upstairs, we needed to get it done quickly. Brown?s was kind enough to schedule us into their busy day and help us recarpet both rooms in a matter of hours within days of our phone call. We couldn?t have moved back into the basement without their help! We would recommend Brown?s Interiors to anyone with flooring needs. As a side note, we are currently beginning work with Brown?s on moving some granite at a substantially reduced price. We know their quality of work and service in this part of their business will surely mirror the other avenues of their expertise.

Their pricing was great. They were really courteous. They were local and had what we wanted. Everyone working there seemed pretty friendly. They also came recommended by our neighbor. They installed it all in a decent period of time. It really made a big change in our house.

They found a discontinued carpet for us which lowered the cost. They were flexible with timing the installation, even when we had to move the date a couple of times.

The job required a lot of furniture moving, the installers performed their work cheerfully and efficiently. A door needed a bit more removed to keep from dragging, and the installer came promptly and fixed it the next day.

Brown's sent a different installer with a partner that could not speak English, and anything they could have done wrong to this floor they did! We had another installer do the work, it took him 12 hours to remove, repair, and install. Brown's Interior never billed the balance, but I wouldn't have paid anyway. Though the floor looks great now, Brown s should have been able to: 1. Look at the job and tell me the product could not go over an existing floor. 2. This would have given me more time to pull the old floor and put down the new underlayment. 3. Provide a product installation and maintenance guide. 4. Given me a bill of sale and warranty; I still have never received one, though I asked for one twice from R.J. and once from Jim Brown. Had I wanted a better job without a ton of headaches I would have done this job myself! We went two months with a botched floor, the whole ordeal took three months from beginning to end for a small floor. Nice people, bad job!

Selection and style of vinyl and carpeting was comprehensive and good quality. Installation was professional. Only problem at end was that clearance on door swing was not considered after adding new carpets and cost/time was not built into bid for trimming down 11 doors.

I HAVE A LARGE HOUSE. THE CARPET WAS PUT IN THE LIVING ROOM (30 BY 14 FEET), DINING ROOM, HALL, POWDER ROOM, OFFICE, MASTER BEDROOM WITH CLOSET AND DRESSING AREA AND STAIRS. REMOVING THE OLD PAD WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT BECAUSE IT HAD ADHERED TO THE UNDER FLOOR AND DID NOT COME UP EASILY. IT REQUIRED A LOT MORE WORK THAN THEY HAD REALIZED. THEY HAD COVERED UP MY LIGHT SWITCH SO HAD TO FINISH A SMALL AREA KIND OF BY ARTIFICIAL LIGHT. IN THE DAYLIGHT IT WAS APPARENT THAT AN AREA WAS NOT SO WELL DONE. THEY PROMPTLY RETURNED AND CORRECTED THE PROBLEM AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. THEY ALSO DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE EXTRA WORK REQUIRED TO REMOVE THE OLD PAD.

THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I NOT STAY IN THE HOUSE WHILE THE WORK WAS UNDERWAY. I RETURNED TO FIND A BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED FLOOR. I HAD NOT THOUGHT IT WOULD EVER LOOK SO GOOD AGAIN. IT LOOKED BETTER THAN WHEN IT WAS FIRST INSTALLED!!

THIS MUST HAVE BEEN THE JOB FROM HELL FOR THE INSTALLATION PEOPLE. THE FURNITURE HAD TO BE MOVED FROM ROOM TO ROOM AS THEY WORKED. THEY HELPED WITH THE FURNITURE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT PART OF THEIR PROCESS.
