The project cost and time more than doubled (25k -> 50k), with increased scope due to their miscalculations. It would have been much worse if I hadn't intervened and asked questions along the way where I could tell they hadn't thought through the design fully. Jeff worked mostly alone, with staff of 1-2 other people sporadically showing up and disappearing. They are not staffed to work on large projects. On the plus side, the quality of the work is solid.

Things went very poorly.  Due to a change in the scope of the project (our request) it was getting late in the season so we agreed to go with a time and materials contract rather than wait for them to rebid with the additional materials.  They spent many weeks on the project, much longer than had been scoped.  They were not staffed for as large of a project.    They didn't even finish the retaining wall and left rebar rods sticking out.   Over 1/3 of the plantings died.  They even charged me  hundreds of dollars to talk to the electrician, which at most was 3 phone calls at most 30min each.
I would definitely not recommend this firm.

Made an appointment with the owner Jeff.  He was out within a few days with his foreman, Colin.  They listened to our concerns and needs. They made several good suggestions.Two days later we received a bid, which Jeff said was the final price.  Not some nebulous"it'll just be labor and materials" bid, which can really bite you in the end.The work was done in two and a half days.  The crew was considerate of a neighbor witha shared driveway.  They cleaned up well; in fact they hauled off some concreteand other construction debris from some other recently completed work we had just finished.Bronscapes price wasn't cheap, but I thought it was fair.  I would certainly recommend them.
