BLW Firewood

If you need firewood look NO further!! I have used 3 other companies to get wood in the past only to get bad wood filled with bugs, wet wood that wouldn’t burn and one that showed up 3 days late with what the they said was a cord but was clearly not..BLW is by far the best, no fuss and dry, full cord wood!!! On time and in full. Don’t mess with anyone else, go with Bob!!

I have made three orders since March. Wood was good quality and ready to burn. It's a quality company that does quality work for it's customers. Highly recommend.

We have purchased Maple firewood from Bob Weiss at BLW Firewood for several years. The quality of the wood has always been great. Bob is easy to reach and responsive by email and phone. On time and friendly. Glad we found them .

Been doing business with Bob Weise for ten years...he provides the four must haves for any firewood supplier - delivers a true cord plus a little bit, delivers only seasoned wood at about 13 to 15% moisture (easy start, beautiful burn), provides me with multiple lengths to match my two fire boxes delivered to center of driveway properly split and ready to stack...easy to schedule always has wood...this is your Fire wood Guy! The wood quality is great and the delivery was on time. It was my mistake, but I did not realize that the wood was just going to be dropped off and I would have to move the wood myself. A chord of wood is a lot! I would also recommend clarifying the wood length to assure it fits in your fire pit/place. Otherwise the service was great and on time.

Was told would be a mixed bag of soft and hard wood, aged 2 years. It showed up water-soaked and VERY muddy. Not what we had expected, and could not be burned... after a few days drying, and using an eco-log to start it, the wood does burn and in fact pretty well. Wish they had been candid about it up-front.

This is my first ever review. I am pretty sure that the 2 glowing reviews about BLW shown here are bogus, CHECK YELP!! We wish we had prior to ordering a full cord of wood from this company. The wood arrived as if it had been dredged from the bottom of a lake: totally waterlogged, absolutely covered in mud and filthy. A good portion was rotten. The wood is odd sized, lumpy, not split, there were actual branches, tons of bark. Only my son was here unfortunately when it arrived or we would have sent it back immediately. When we saw it we called the vendor and Bob continued to insist that it is good, dry clean wood that was neatly stacked on palettes, albeit outdoors. Either he is flat out lying, or he is blind. He refused to come back and take back the wood. Fortunately, we only took delivery of half of the cord in this first delivery, and told him we will not take the rest, and are right now cancelling the check. DO NOT ORDER WOOD FROM THIS VENDOR.

Bob Weiss, the owner seemed like a real nice guy over the phone and since I have a small pick-up he said I could swing by and pick out any wood from a very large pile of mixed woods for $150.00. It would have been a great deal, but as soon as I saw the wood I suspected it was still very wet. Bob insisted that it was only wet on the outside and would burn without any problem in my wood stove. I really grilled Bob about whether the wood was too wet to burn and he insisted it was fine. I was right, no matter how hot I got my stove with kindling and some dry wood I still had left over, as soon as I put a piece of Bob's wood in the stove the fire went out, and throughout all the burning of his load wood, I never had more than 20 minutes before I had to rework the wood, adding paper, Fatwood, and more kindling to keep it going. Bob just bought the business and basically it seems to me that Bob has a huge pile of old wood left over that's just taking up a lot of space in his yard and has been rained on for years and he just wants to get rid of it. The price was fine. If the wood was dry, the price would have been great and I a repeat customer. The cost of his main stocks of wood are astronomically high but people apparently are willing to pay it for the really good dry wood Bob does have, for a small fortune. I thought I was getting a great deal, but I got ripped off again.

Delivered on time. Bob provided an excellent description of the products over the phone and recommended conifer based on what I was looking for and my fireplace configuration. Love the big, cracklin' fire now that the fall has started! Yes, the wood was seasoned as advertised.

I lost my wood guy and so went to Angie's List to find a new one. This guy had great reviews. The price seemed very high, but I couldn't find much better. Ordered a cord of maple (which, for you east coasters who are not familiar, is Big Leaf Maple, one of those in-between woods, NOT a proper hard wood) and scheduled delivery. At the price I was paying, I expected a full cord with all pieces 16-20 inches and properly split. He had asked me the max size I wanted and I had said 20 inches. Well, what I got was probably a cord in volume but approximately 20% of it was trash wood. I mean junk. Short, punky, and lots of those chunky triangular pieces that neither stack nor fit between the andirons. When I pointed out some of the short pieces he said "Well, you asked for under 20 inches." The wood was already dumped in my yard. Foolishly, I paid him. I feel really burned.
