 + -1 moreTheir quotes were horrible over 200 dollars to fix a garbage disposal and a 100 dollars for a low drain. I had a new disposal installed and cleaned my drain for a 110.00 dollars with another pluming company.
Description of Work: Their quotes were outrageous and not competitive. I choose not to do buisness with them and went with another company.

 + -1 moreThe guy came out and he thought we needed a new hose bib. He thought he could fix it by just packing it though. He basically just put a washer in it. It took him all of 20 minutes and he gave me a bill for $350.00. He took off the $125 that the deal was worth so I paid a total of $250.00. I could have done the job myself for $10.00. I really feel like I got ripped off.

He was able to repair both leaking hose bibs and let me know that one of them would need to be replaced sometime in the not-too-distant future. Jim Took extra time to talk over various options with me, realizing that the cost of buying and installing a new disposal was a big stretch for my budget. He worked efficiently and finished the job within the time frame we had agreed upon. He left the area spotless and took time to review how the units worked, how to do siimple repairs, and to gather all of the little tools and diagrams together for me to file.And a another bonus ... My dogs loved him!
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen faucet and dispenser and installed new one. Removed old garbage disposal and installed new one. Initially we thought the old disposal was just leaking, and would need a simple reseal or pipe; as Jim worked he discovered that the disposal was rusted and barely holding together. Removing it turned out to be tricky and time consuming, but through it all Jim retained his sense of humor and professional demeanor. He had a suitable replacement on his truck, and installed it - even though this item was not on the original work order.

 + -1 moreThey wrote up a quote for me that included extra labor and parts. They wanted a total of 688.80 which would come to way more than I wanted to pay. I could do the replacement myself for much less. They tried to sell me a discount for an additional 89.00 to lower the cost. It felt very bait and switch. I took a day off to have the work done and am very disappointed in the service men that came out to do the work and declined to use the deal because of the additional costs associated.
Description of Work: I was going to have them put in two faucets that I already own and fix a leck under the kitchen sink which replacement of the faucet would likely repair. I had purchased a Big Deal for $50 for $125 Worth of Any Plumbing Service.

Description of Work: Fixed outside faucets that were leaking when turned on. Very nice, professional and on-time. Also gave us a bid for adding a new faucet and explained in detail why it was so expensive. We did not move forward with the new faucet but was great to understand how much it would cost and why.

Michelle came to our home 3 x in order to estimate, make the repair with an ordered part and to then follow up when the first part was not stopping the leak 100%. She was determined to get the fix made completely and even worked creatively with the supplier of the necessary part. (Of course the faucet we have needed special parts from a particular company.). She was professional, thorough, timely and friendly. Everyone who handled scheduling was the same. I will work with Best Plumbing again and would request Michelle.

 + -1 morePurchased coupon for $125 of service for $75 dollars. Two plumbers arrived, and we had two possible jobs: clear one sink drain and repair loud noise when front outdoor faucet was turned on. They said they'd have to cut into the siding to fix the noise problem, and that it would cost about $500, so we said it would have to wait. They spent aboout 20 minutes clearing the drain. While one plumber was working on the drain, I didn't know where the other had gone; I went outside to find him about to cut into our siding to complete the repair we couldn't afford. When they finished the drain cleaming -- again, no more than 20 minutes -- they charged us an extra $75 on top of the $125 of our coupon. $200 for 20 minutes of drain cleaning? I will never call them again.

Description of Work: We had a toilet bubbling up when it flushed, they could find nothing wrong but possibly it is the toilet itself. They installed a shutoff on another toilet and replaced a flapper.

 + -1 moreSee above. I called Angie's List re a refund of my Big Deal coupon and was told this was possible and that the Big Deal department would contact me soon about the refund.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal coupon for $125 worth of service, thinking this would cover fixing a dripping bathroom faucet. The plumber arrived a little late, not his fault, because his router had not given him my full address. He was professional and courteous, but after looking at the faucet (and I also asked him to look at a toilet that sometimes overflows), he spent quite a lot of time outside in his truck calculating the cost of these repairs, and returned with some very high prices. He said the replacement of faucet washers would cost $161 and the toilet repair would cost $236 (he said the flapper was adjusted wrong and but instead of adjusting it he would replace it, and I'm not clear about why replacement was necessary). This seemed very high but I decided to go ahead with just the one repair to the faucets since he was here, and since I had already paid for the coupon. Then he said he would have to recalculate the faucet price because the prices he had quoted were for a double service which was discounted. His price for faucet repair then went up to about $250! I told him I was going to have to pass on his services and he left.

After the garbage disposal failed on us, I consulted with Wayne on the phone (for free) and scheduled an appointment. Wayne himself came out promptly at 8 AM, did the job superbly and also provided us with a lot of useful information related to our plumbing problem. I have used a few different plumbers in the past with decent results, but from now on Best Plumbing is the only plumber I will use. I would use them even if their rates were higher than other plumbers, because I have confidence in their honesty and competency. I would recommend them to anyone.

 + 1 moreI have used them twice and I will call them again. They were very professional. Their estimate was in the range that I thought is should be. The plumber was very helpful and gave me some hints on how to do some maintenance work on the faucet. I liked his promptness, friendliness, technical knowledge and competence. There was nothing that I disliked. I know they are not inexpensive but it was well worth it. They charge a fair price but you don't hire them because they are cheap.
Description of Work: A couple years ago, Best Plumbing installed an exterior storm drain line. They had to cut a concrete slab to put in the line and they ran it out to the alley. A week ago, I had them install a kitchen faucet. The dishwasher vent was plugged and he unplugged it at no extra charge. He had to take it apart.

 + -1 moreOverall, I would grade them as very poor. They did a good job. The work they did was good. There was some work that I wanted done and they just weren’t willing to do. In terms of punctuality, they were little late, but was understandable. Some of the work they did, they did a good job on, but I would say the communication was not great and then the willingness. I had a lose faucet that I wanted tighten and the guy was not willing to do that.
