 + -1 moreThe guy took one look at it, said Seth Thomas has been out of business for many years, no parts are available, and there's nothing anyone can do. All I needed was a tiny screw. Fortunately was able to find another repair shop that was happy to take the job on and service the mechanism as well, Don't know how this guy is able to stay in business.
Description of Work: Took my antique Seth Thomas ship's clock to them to have repair the hinge that holds the crystal in place.

 + -1 moreMany years ago we discovered Ballard Time Shop to repair good clocks. There are not many good clockmakers in this area, so it is worth the drive, price and wait to get the job done properly. Contrary to this review format, the work was done at the Ballard Time Shop, 5414 20th Ave NW (Ballard) in Seattle, WA. The repair period seemed long, and rather expensive, but the end result was worth it - our clock runs properly.
Description of Work: Brian Boyett did a full overhaul on our Seth Thomas No. 2 Regulator clock.

 + -1 moreBrian provided two options for repairing the clock. I chose the more expensive option of having all of the gears and chimes replaced so that the clock could be fully restored to its original condition. The work took about three weeks. Brian did an excellent job retaining the original features of the clock. I am very pleased; the clock keeps good time and the chimes sound wonderful again.
Description of Work: Replacement of the gears and chimes in an older handmade mantel clock.

 + -1 moreGood! Friendly staff. My only minor gripe is that we never received a call when the clock was repaired -- we had to call to find out.
Description of Work: We had a cuckoo clock that was boxed up for years -- we took it out finally and it didn't work, as the chains and gears were all tangled. We took it to Ballard Time Shop, and they fixed it without a problem!

 + -1 moreI have 2 clocks that are over 200 years old. Both have all-wooden works and are very delicate. Brian wanted only 1 at a time. I took one in. It took him about a month to repair it. But it works perfectly. I wanted to bring in the other at the time of pick-up of the first, but Brian said that one was such a challenge, that he wanted to take a break until after the first of the year before tackling the other.
Description of Work: Took the clock apart, cleaned it, put it back together & regulated it.

Description of Work: THIS GREAT PLACE HAS REPAIRED TWO OLD FAMILY HEIRLOOM CLOCKS. IN THE FIRST CASE, THEY REPLACED THE SPRING AND WORN GEARS IN A 120 YEAR OLD SETH THOMAS CLOCK. IN THE SECOND CASE, THEY FIXED A 1930'S VINTAGE GE ELECTRIC CLOCK BY REBUILDING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR.
