+ -1 moreTotally wasted my time. Insisted he was focused on quality, but refused to stick to his written proposal even before the job started. Took two months to show up to start the job after his first visit, and since the job was to replace 3 exterior doors, we lost the chance to do it during good weather. In the end, he failed to deliver because he had only one "door guy" and that guy didn't want the job, so I was left hanging in the wind. Totally unprofessional on multiple levels, and when I told him so, he wouldn't even apologize! Just kept saying "I did nothing wrong." This guy cannot be recommended. He's all about blowing smoke. He took a month to send a written proposal after scoping out the job, then another month to show up with his "expert" to start the work. But he had not told the "expert" about the job, and spent that whole visit trying to talk me intp new work that was not part of his written bid. He ultimately couldn't do the work because he had only one guy who can do doors!
Description of Work: Looked at my job on July 18, took measurements, photos, and promised to do exquisite work. Had to keep after him for a written proposal, which he finally sent on August 18. Then said he needed to bring his "door guy" (the job was replacement of 3 high-end exterior doors), which he would do at 8:00 a.m. on September 22. Showed up after 10:00, hadn't told the "door guy" anything about the job, so we were almost starting from scratch. Dalen Bakstad spent the whole visit trying to upsell me on putting in storm doors and storm windows and adding new fascia boards to the roofline. Refused to focus on his written estimate for door replacements, which was already expensive but I guess he wanted more. In the end, the "door guy" said he didn't want to do the job and then Dalen said he had no other "door guy" and he therefore couldn't do the job that he had been promising for 2 months and submitted a written bid to perform! Maybe a $6000 job was too small for him? Why did he waste my time? Why could he only upsell completely new ideas instead of sticking to his written proposal from a month earlier?
