In the initial communications with Evan, from Artisan Electric, I had a sense of a company who were experienced and very knowledgeable regarding their line of work. We had many questions, including about current financial incentives, and he answered them all. There were some lags in email responses at the outset but not enough to keep us from working with them. We also spoke with another solar business, whose quote was cheaper, but did not get a good sense from them about their knowledge and team cohesiveness. Artisan Electric are not the cheapest and for the big system we were installing it gave us pause. Ultimately we chose Artisan Electric for the professionalism and expertise; we remain happy with that choice. The only negatives I have about the work is around the site cleanup--there are red marks on our rear patio from something they used to make marks on the roof and the skylights are covered in a layer of dirt/dust. The installers told me the red marks on the patio are from red chalk they used on the roof and one of the installers hosed our patio down to remove the red chalk but those marks remain. I am yet to try scrubbing or power washing it out. It would have been great to have had these items taken care of. Overall, a quality company that I would recommend.

We contacted Artisan and the sales/project manager showed up with a whole portfolio about how our house, with its roof angle and the trees around etc., would do with solar panels. He also helped us understand the complicated financing (with the rebates and the netmetering etc.) and helped us identify lenders for the project. The installation date was moved around a few times because of the availability of the hardware and the availability of the staff. This made it difficult at times because you have to be home when they need to get in the house. But the installers were super friendly and efficient, and the work was done well (it seems). It's a really loud process! There was also some technical trouble with the energy monitor that they installed, but with the installer and my husband and I all three working on it we figured it out. We needed to get a knob-and-tube wire replaced during the process and Artisan did an awesome job with the subcontracting. And now we have solar panels that will hopefully produce at least 90% of our home energy needs, and it will be paid off in less than 6 years because of the incentives. One of the best things about Artisan is that the sales manager is also the project manager, so there are fewer miscommunications and better-aligned expectations. Another great thing is that, if you hear about them through a personal connection, both the referrer and the referree get a rebate! Very cool. Overall we are super happy.

Done in a couple days, cleaned up well, gave great training on the system.  It was installed through a Seattle City Light neighborhood solar program, so we went to a group info session and then had the panels installed.  The only issue was that it took a few months from the info session to solar installation due to backlog.

My experience could not have gone better. They were fantastic! They were professional and they were  responsive. They had all the information with them they needed. They left little to doubt. They were detailed oriented and organized.  I would highly recommend them.

They were very personable. They explained the process very thoroughly. They did quality work.  The work took about a week to complete.

They were outstanding and overcame some obstacles. We had a protective coating on our roof and the adhesive they were using was not compatible, so they had to do some research on the fly to find a solution. They even worked with our roofing contractors to make sure everything was okay.

It went great! I've always wanted to install solar panels, since I had my house built in 1979. Back then, there weren't many options in that market and most people didn't know much about it. The Seattle City Light company actually recommended this company recently, so I went for it. They went through the effort of vetting various solar providers, and I appreciate that. They're a family-owned company, and I've enjoyed working with them. Every day, I'm excited to get on my computer and track how much energy Seattle City Light has purchased from me, and it feels good knowing that I'm reducing my fossil fuel dependency.

Everyone we came in contact with from the company was pleasant, knowledgeable, and hardworking.

The installation was done with utmost attention to detail. There was extensive electrical work required to enable (1) hooking up the panels to our main panel and to the grid, (2) connecting the garage panels and sub-panel to the house via underground conduit with larger gauge connections, (3) installing the garage sub-panel, the solar/AC combiner panel, and the solar production meter box. installation was definitely a multiple step process. 
It took a total of two weeks to complete the job, which did not seem at all unreasonable because the work involved was so substantial. 
Employees were very friendly, polite, conscientious, neat, professional, and communicative.
This was probably the best overall experience I've ever had with a contractor/team doing a large project on my home.
