ART'S EXPERT GUTTER SERVICE

I found this service provider on Craigslist, advertising 10 years in the business of gutter cleaning and repair. I went that route because I experienced people being more concerned about selling me a new gutter system or confining their services to cleaning only rather than a combination of cleaning and repair. I e-mailed him initially with a description of the work and he replied promptly, asking me to call and set up a time for his free estimate. Because I did not want to take time off from work, he offered to come out to West Seattle on a Saturday at 10:00 A.M. He called Saturday morning shortly before his appointment time to say that he was just getting on the bridge and was a bit behind schedule. I work nights so that was not important to me, since he did call. Art Darbinian arrived 40 minutes later and inspected my gutters and downspouts and I walked him through my recent concerns. He initially quoted me a price of $195.00 as I had a large amount of debris in both the gutters and downspouts but reduced it to $180.00 as he had another appointment in the area. I agreed to it and asked when he could schedule it. He indicated that now was fine and I accepted. He went right to work and cleared all of the debris. He replaced the corroded downspout at the front of the house in its entirety. One downspout in the back was draining to the foundation which he re-directed. The other back downspout was leaking where it was attached with duct tape (!) and he repaired that one with a partial piece salvaged from my removed downspout. He was here for an hour and a half and gave me recommendations and options for the future care and/or replacement of my gutter system. He dresses a bit scruffy and I'm sure that the nose ring would be off-putting to some people however he did a good job at a fair price. One of my neighbors across the street availed themselves of his services before he left for his next appointment.
