Repair man was very congenial and had experienced this problem with Kitchen Aid fridges before.  He did a good job, and fixed it so it wouldn't do that again.

One of the worst professional service experiences I have ever had. We called Apex to repair our dishwasher. The repair was misdiagnosed as an electrical problem in our house. Being a contractor and an electrical engineer, I understood what the technician had told my wife, and I knew that it did not make sense. Given the technician's explanation, I called him to make sure the problem really had been fixed. Rather than discuss the issue with me, the technician immediately became defensive and chose to argue with me, continually repeating his claim that I have a code violation in my house (which I know to not be true) and that I'm lucky that I did not burn my house down. Realizing that I was getting nowhere, I finally elected to call the technician's manager Dan (who is actually a great guy). Dan confirmed for me that the technician's explanation made no sense, apologized, and offered an explanation that did make sense. My frustration is increased because (my wife and I are creatures of habit) we have been using Apex for years, and it usually turns out the same way. Someone comes out, replaces the first part they see, sends you a bill, and nothing is fixed. And then they argue with you about it. I have finally had enough.......

Initially, I called them for two appliances; my dryer and my refrigerator. The dryer - it is just two times, but then kind of picked up the problem, and then with the refrigerator the guy just kind of listened to it and said it was not worth it to even try and repair itself. They arranged taxi and they cost about what they said they would, and I wasn t unhappy. I was satisfied with their customer service. It turned out the part was just a door latch that needed to be replaced, and it was expensive. It made me think afterwards that it was kind of a lot of money for a relatively simple thing, so I would question calling them again if I wasn t sure it was a real necessary thing. My overall experience with them has been average.

They were quick and friendly. They were very professional and they showed up on time. They performed work in a timely matter. I would recommend them to anyone.

The receptionist was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Service was scheduled for a very small waiting "window, and the repairman, Mike, actually called me at the start of the window to tell me when he estimated he would arrive! Mike was on time, personable, efficient, neat and clean, and willing to give me the part number and show me how to do the repair again myself, as this was the second time the same part had broken, and Mike said it would not be unusual if it happened again. This was my first time using Angie's List and I'm impressed. I will use Apex again, and refer them to others.

The repair person arrived on time, went right to work, went through his diagnostic routine, and isolated the problem. The entire job was completed within the first half hour. It was a job well done.
