Excellent company. Iwas freaked out and they calmed me down (call them before you lose sleep!) It's not as bad as it seems. Showed up right on time. Gave an excellent consult that didn't feel rushed nor about just making money (instead.. doing it right!). The actual remediation (all the dry wall in the bathroom, cutting new electrical holes, etc was done to perfection with a clean air test and no debris. They respected HOA rules and they got all this scheduled after permits. It was a seamless stress-free process and ironically it was also the most affordable.

We had an entire basement of asbestos vinyl tile removed. The team was on time, remove the carpet and padding over the vinyl and left my space immaculately clean. They also finished the job in one day. Extremely happy with my experience.

Fabulous team! We bought a 1952 house from the original owner several years ago and have been renovating it slowly since. We've had to remove multiple asbestos walls over the years, and we always use American Environmental Construction. Francisco and his team are timely, efficient, and thorough. They leave the job site immaculate. Steve has been quick to get us estimates, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Fantastic job, came home after job and besides all the asbestos being removed I could not even tell they were there. Everything was put back in its place and was as clean as it was before they arrived. Highly recommend them!

When owner arrived, he appeared to be surprised by the job needing to be done and starting acting like more needed to be charged to get the job done. Quote was low and owner wanted to charge more after the job was started. Said more testing was needed and more charged to remove another laying or flooring. None of this was discussed prior even though job was scheduled months ahead. Had to argue about this. Not careful with demo and cracked paint on walls on the other side of the demo. Also chipped areas of flooring not supposed to be included int he demo. Did not have a good sense of the job and could have done a better job if they has listened to what I needed. Removed drywall that didn't need to be removed. If you get a quote from this company and it is the lowest one you get, please remember that they can jack up the cost right when they arrive knowing that's a tough spot to be in, don't choose a company based on cost alone.

Perfect.
An estimator came to my 1929-built building to take a look and bid on the removal of the kitchen flooring on 12/10/2015.  He was very helpful, walked through the whole place and offered some suggestions of where asbestos might be lurking.  I decided to treat the multiple stacked layers of linoleum and vinyl floor as if it were asbestos-containing and he wrote me up an estimate.  He also left me with bags and directions for any testing that I wanted to do elsewhere in the space.
Prior to job day I removed cabinets and other floor-sitting items from the kitchen.  They arrived on 1/5/2016, setting up a containment zone in the kitchen and abated the flooring within about 3-4 hours.  After final tests to ensure that the environment was clear of asbestos fiber they ended the job, having removed all waste materials from site.
We are very pleased with their efficiency, knowledge, price of work, and quality.  They made it quick and easy to safely continue renovating our space.

Tony came out to bid the job, and was pretty prompt for the appointment and turned the quote quickly. However, after we agreed on a price and the down payment was provided, there were delays in starting the job, and the responsiveness to my inquiry calls was less than impressive. I will say that when we did get the work started, his crew was prompt and professional. They were good about sealing off the work area, and they maintained a level of cleanliness over the 3 days it took them to complete the work. They did complete the job a day earlier than originally anticipated, so I was pleased about that. When they were done, the attic space was clean and vermiculite free.

Overall, it was an acceptable job for a reasonable price.

It went fairly well. The AEC project manager returned my calls and emails promptly, and he provided us with a clear estimate. The AEC workers were careful and courteous. They sealed off the work area, worked efficiently, completely cleaned up the work area, and removed all the debris.
The AEC project manager was not present at the site when the workers arrived so I had to delay the start of my work day in order to to explain the scope of work and show them around the house. Their project manager arrived within an hour, but I'd already lost the time getting them started.
AEC was recommended by the heating contractor, and both project managers met at our house to discuss the job a few weeks in advance. Coordination can be challenging on even a small residential job, and some problems arose with this one. Specifically, I observed a 'scope of work' condition that might not have been fully explained to the AEC project manager by the heating contractor, and was consequently not communicated at all to the AEC workers on site. I contacted both the AEC project manager and the heating contractor to request that they discuss the scope with each other and relay instructions to the AEC workers on site. My intervention saved us a few hundred dollars and improved the overall job, but it also took more time away from my work day.
It turned out fine in the end, but the process could have been smoother.

They came out and gave us a quote ahead of time after I set up an appointment by phone. It took two days to perform the removal/disposal of the popcorn ceiling. We could not use the first floor of the home in between days/overnight (which they warned us about in advance). The removal/disposal of the popcorn ceiling was as expected. There was substantial damage to the paint on the top several inches of the walls in all of the rooms. The damage was bad enough that the walls needed to be repainted. The provider had warned that there would be some damage, but it was much more extensive than I had expected. Also, the provider did a coat of mudding over the ceiling after removal of the popcorn, but it wasn't adequate for painters (separate contractor), so we had to have separate contractors come in to finish the mudding before we were able to paint. The space was left clean. Note that they take down but do not put back up all the light fixtures.

They explained everything they do to make it safe and clean. I went to work and when I came home, it was done. They did a great job and it is a relief to have it done. They weren't allowed to put the lights back together and the ceiling is a mess, so I have work to do to get it and quot;niceand quot; again, but that is to be expected when you are scraping it off. I was very happy with the work. The price seemed reasonable. I didn't price-shop, so not clear if they were high or low.

Removal of asbestos is expensive, and when you see the containment systems these guys set up, you'll understand why. I toyed with the idea of doing the removal myself - reading articles online and talking to friends before deciding to take the plunge sand spend the money handing the job off to professionals. I am incredibly glad that I did not take this on myself.
Affordable Environmental's bid on my job was a full 1/3rd lower than another large asbestos removal company on Angie's List. The crew showed up on time every day for 5 straight days. It was a crew of 3 guys most of the time, but the last couple of days, several other team showed up to help get the job done on time.
When all was said and done, my attic was immaculate; clean, wiped down, and in perfect order for the electrician crew showing up the following day. Here's to hoping I never need another abatement crew, but if I do, I'll definitely try Affordable Environmental again.

Having removed asbestos tape ourselves once before, we knew how messy and painstaking it was if you weren't experienced and had to start by buying everything from suits to respirators. We had thought this would be terribly expensive, but the price for the areas we needed done and the funky way you needed to access one of them was worth it. The tech did a good job, but because asbestos worries me more than him, I pestered him to check the air quality a couple of times, then called the main office to get questions answered. In every interaction, people were polite and forthcoming.

Extremely well: the affected areas were draped in accordance with correct protocols for containing and removing asbestos. Clean-up was thorough. In addition, we were advised of the need to surround vents with insulation in order to prevent heat loss up the inside of walls.
