We were referred to Ambrose by our designers after our initial contractor pulled out at the last minute. Fate steered us to the right people. The entire process from start to finish was very positive. The lead carpenter, Young, was excellent. There were some delays and unforeseen expenses which is true of all remodeling projects but everyone was very communicative about it and we felt informed and part of the decision making process. In the end they came in on budget and the finished project looks gorgeous. Friends in the construction business who have seen our kitchen since completion have all commented on the high quality of the work. We would definitely use Ambrose again for future work.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of kitchen (studs out) and structural repair work to upper floor.

We chose this contractor, because of neighbor recommendations, experience dealing with condo and multi-floor realities, ability to respect condo guidelines, and creativity in designing and constructing a wheelchair-appropriate remodel. We were not disappointed. The contractors offered creative advice on doorway construction and plumbing configuration that met code and condo requirements, while solving our mysteries and meeting our needs. The tradesmen were personable, and several of our condo neighbors remarked on their friendliness and the lack of disturbance during the remodel. Despite a price higher than what we hoped for (we are used to doing things ourselves), the workmanship and results were very high quality. The post-construction warranty wasn't really needed. Over a year later, the owner and plumber even came out immediately to help us solve a building problem which turned out to be totally unrelated to their work.
Description of Work: Complete demo and remodel of top-floor condo unit, including new kitchen, bathroom, walls, re-engineered floor, sound-proofing, doorways, laundry closet, radiant heat register, electrical, plumbing, tiled bathroom and shower, heated bathroom floor. Worked within condo guidelines and 11th floor realities. Provided construction and customized design assistance to meet needs of wheelchair user in all areas of home.
