As far as we know the electrical work is fine. We did not find a permit for the work, which is a concern.
The contractor, Colin, left a complete mess for us. This is for a condominium and he was contracted by our property management company. The pool room had been cleaned the night before the work was performed. We checked the room on the evening the work was performed and found a complete mess. The ladder he used was left open and not returned to it's storage location, he placed a wheelbarrow in front of the door, which was a trip hazard. The floor was strewn with trash, and parts from the old connections were left outside. The new electrical panel box carton was left, and the old electrical box was left for us to dispose of as well.
They sent Joey out to do the estimate. He was extremely efficient in taking measurements and providing a rough estimate on the spot using an app on his iPad. When I balked at the initial price, he was very collaborative in discussing our options to bring the cost down to something I could afford. Our main savings would come from running the conduit on the outside of the house, rather than through the walls. That afternoon, he sent an official estimate, and we scheduled for them to do the work the next week.
On the day of the job, the technician arrived on time to get set up. One of his first steps was to cut a hole in the wall of our finished attic so he could access the crawl space. He didn't protect the area from dust before starting to cut into the wall, so I asked him if he could use a drop cloth. He said he wasn't creating much dust (he was) and that he hadn't brought a drop cloth. I supplied him with a plastic drop cloth, which I had in my garage. The hole he cut in the wall was quite irregular. For this reason, I gave them a B for professionalism and quality.
The rest of work went well, and the tech even discovered that he could run the wire straight up from the basement through a raceway, which reduced the amount of conduit that would need to be run on the outside of the house. Joey stopped by throughout the day to check on the tech's progress and to run my credit card (via his iPad) when the work was complete.
Did sloppy work and not as instructed.
Had told electrian that I wanted all switches and outlets to be same height as other existing.
Outlets and switches not at same level so looks very sloppy since they don't line up.
Outlet , switches and electrical boxes installed crooked and look horrible and uneven.
Cover plates not provided with installation of switches and outlet.
Was quite surprised with the work done and as each remodel job got closer to being finished their mistakes and sloppy workmanship kept appearing.
I would never use this company again.
I am thrilled at how quickly they were able to get someone to my home; and grateful that the issue was a quick fix.
James was professional, efficient, and friendly.
I will definitely call on them again.
