In the past, I haven't always had the same great experience that I had with this purchase and delivery when I visited the retail store.
I realize they prefer professionals, but if they want the local community to support this local business instead of Home Depot and Lowe's, some of these guys could use some customer service training. A couple of times I had to deal with a very rude guy who didn't seem to like women doing their own projects; he argued with (rather than making suggestions) about my choice of wood for a pergola, insisting that only cedar would work and that my choice would rot in 2 years, despite being painted. My choice not only lasted 8 years on that pergola, it was re-used in another arbor and is now 16 years old (2 coats of paint).
Nevertheless, in my last purchase, the guys on the phone and doing the delivery renewed my faith in this local company and I would recommend them for large projects.

I ordered 50 boards of 12' tight-knot cedar. Only one had visible flaws and even that one was minor.

ALKI LUMBER IS WHERE MANY, MANY, MANY OF THE BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS GO TO GET THEIR MATERIALS NEEDED TO BUILD WHAT THEY ARE BUILDING. THIS LUMBER YARD IS ALSO USED BY THE LITTLER COMPANIES AS WELL.
