Akers outdoor plumbing came to see us when our water bills were astronomical and we concluded there was a leak outside the house. We discussed an appropriate replacement for our pipe, concluding it was likely the 40+ year old original had failed. Akers handed permit arrangement for the job and came out promptly to do the work as soon as they had an opening in their schedule. The job was done well with good communication about the need to break into our driveway slab in a small corner section to access the pipe. The yard looked great after the job and the water was back on with no issues. Our bills since suggest they fixed the issue. We chose copper piping per their recommendation with the hope that this is the final fix. We recommend them enthusiastically for this type of work.

Andy and his crew did an outstanding job. It was a difficult replacement because of the distance and all the underground utilities in the path of the new water line. All the obstacles were conquered and the job went very smoothly. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat/ Great service, reasonable cost, and good people to work with.

I am incredibly happy with the work that Andy and his crew did with installing a new waterline. For background, I went on vacation for a few days and came back to discover water coming out from underneath my driveway. I called four plumbing companies for a bid. Of the four, Andy was by far the most thorough in examining the problem and explaining his solution. One of the tools he has (which the other companies didn't), is a horizontally drilling tool, which can dig underneath the driveway. Meaning, he doesn't have to jack hammer the driveway to lay down the pipe, so it's a lot cleaner and doesn't require patching up the driveway. He was also the only one that checked the crawl space to see how the new line would be going into the house. I decided to go with Andy, and I couldn't be more satisfied. His team showed up within a few days and worked quickly to get my water running again. I am especially appreciative to Andy and his crew, because they adjusted their schedule so that they could get to the water leak (which was only getting bigger by each day) sooner. His crew was experienced and friendly (they've been working together for a while, which is a great sign). After the city inspector came and gave it a thumbs up, his crew cleaned up and left everything in even better shape than it was before. They even washed the dirt off the sidewalk. Also, I should mention that they were very responsive in communication (thanks, Traci). I would absolutely recommend Akers Outdoor Plumbing! They're professional, knowledgeable, honest, and just good people.

Excellent team

I called Akers after reading a number of the Angie's list reviews and I am really glad I did. Andy came out and gave us a quote the next day and was able to complete the job about 10 days later. Everything went very smoothly and Andy, Traci and team did an outstanding job. I am really impressed with how they kept the landscaping completely intact. They even removed my landscape fabric and put it right back in place!

They were able to do it the next day as leak was leaking from outside the house through the basement wall where sewer came in into the basement. They also patched up that hole along with water line and another even older line from the original water line. They cleaned up everything, we were able to get city approval that day so yard completely back to baseline by end of the day.

Line had to go up a steep bank, thru a tiered yard, and around to the back of the house. Work was completed in two days! Crew was great and they did such a fantastic cleanup job you would never had guessed all that work had been done. Great job and would highly recommend this company.

Fantastic work and super easy to work with....really know their stuff!! Got the whole water line and a new shut-off valve installed in a day. I was very impressed! This job went great, unfortunately, I got no response to 2 requests for a bid on some additional work. :(

Akers was very responsive and provided excellent services. The one part I thought less than an "A" grade was that there was an aggressiveness regarding final payment when there shouldn't have been an issue.

We suddenly found ourselves with a broken water line due to a City water surge the day after thanksgiving. Our plumber no longer digs, so we did intensive online research to find a plumber to repair/replace our line. We discovered Akers Outdoor Plumbing who has an A+ with the BBB and outstanding reviews from their customers. We were told by the City that we needed 3 estimates for the work and they came in the lowest. They also are proficient with drenchless repairs. Because our line was galvanized steel and runs 100 feet from the meter it was impossible to find out how many breaks were in the line. With the technology that leak detection companies use, they can only find the first leak that they come across even though there may be several. Akers would only quote a line replacement because of the age of the line. Further, they were the only company, with their technology, that didn’t need to cut up concrete to replace our line and that was key to us. Akers is experts in this field, this is all they do and we were enormously pleased with their knowledge, experience and results. . I would highly recommend them for any outdoor plumbing needs!

Awesome! The crew arrived early and well prepared to face the job at hand. The path that Andy had originally proposed would not work. Ryan, the work lead, said it was not a problem and consulted with Andy over the phone, and they came up with an excellent alternative which brought the line under the driveway, under a flowerbed and up the lawn. They called the locator to identify where all the other utilities were on the property - gas, power, cable, sewer, etc. They also obtained the necessary permits from City Hall. Once the locator validated where those were and with the work permit in hand, the crew set to work digging several holes that were used to feed the "mole" through and then the replacement poly-pipe. The crew was amazing. It was a hot sunny day, and they remained focused on the task and worked quickly with minimal impact to the landscaping and lawn. They completed the installation in approximately 6-hours, back filled all but two holes, which they had to keep open so the City could inspect and sign-off on the work. They replaced the grass piece they'd carefully layed back, and raked the landscaping bark back into place - they did such a good job, you could not even tell where they had dug. The inspector signed off the next day, and the crew returned the following day to fill in the holes. You honestly could not tell the landscaping or lawn had been disturbed. While it is no fun to find the leak, or have to invest in this kind of repair, Andy, Traci, Ryan and the crew were so pleasant to work with, it made the entire situation positive. Thank you, Andy and Traci - and thanks to your professional, dedicated and talented crew.

I discovered the leak over Memorial Day weekend and Akers called me back a few days later since they were out of the office for a couple of days.  Andy then waited for me when I was stuck in traffic to look at the problem.  He had other jobs going on but worked me into their schedule and completed the majority of the work in one day. An inspector came the next morning and signed off and the crew came back and finished up the next day.  They did not have to dig up my entire flower bed, they dug three holes near the meter, near where the connection went into the house and then in the middle at the end of the driveway. They then made a new trench with their underground tool and simply threaded the new copper pipe through the new trench.  It was very efficient and worked great.  Ryan, Pedro, Olie, and Cameron were all very professional and courteous.  Traci was great in the office and with the scheduling and Andy supervised the project, ensured the connection was secure and properly installed.  They did have to cut some larger roots from a tree right on top of the old line, which was not anticipated, but seemed unavoidable.  In addition, the cost was more than half off what other contractors wanted for the job.  I would hire Akers Outdoor again in a minute!  Thanks for the great work!

We noticed a leak in our front yard the weekend after Thanksgiving. Tracy got back to us promptly and was able to send Andy later that day for an estimate. The price was what I was expecting and Andy thoroughly explained the situation and the work involved, as well as anywhere that there was a potential for more cost.  That was Saturday. On Sunday, they sent the estimate, which had no surprises and, due to the severity of the problem, gave our job priority and said that they would fit us in first thing on Monday.  I signed the contract electronically and workers showed up at our house at 10:30 on Monday.  They quickly got to work. By 3pm, the water line was replaced, tested, and the inspector arrived.  After a quick inspection, all was clear to fill in.  They filled everything back in quickly and with an eye toward putting things back to the way they were. They did a fantastic job, were extremely friendly happy to answer questions, and did their work professionally and quickly. I was very impressed and will definitely give them a call if other problems arise.

Several months ago we watched as our next door neighbors had their yard torn up in order to have a new water line installed. We were very impressed with the crew and we agreed that if we ever needed that service, we would hire them. Despite the trenching and pulling back sod, when they left the job, you couldn't tell that they had ever been there. Andy is very pleasant and professional and his employees are the same. We were only without water for less than a day. We would highly recommend Akers Outdoor Plumbing to anyone needing a new water line or sewer repair, etc. They are at the top of their game.
