I'm a remote landlord and hired Gallons Above the Rest to maintain the yard at my property in Seattle. Price was $240/month year round ($2880/year). As most people in the NW know there is nothing required through the winter, so pretty good pay for a small yard. I used these guys for 3 years always paying on time, and on my periodic visits (every 12 to 18 months), I found grass that was knee high, hedges overgrown, blackberry brambles, and more dandelions than grass none of which existed at the time they were hired.
After raising a stink, they did come and do some work, and I imagine the massive quantity of yard waste was more than the yard waste container could handle. I received additional bills for disposing of the waste, only to find on my next visit that it had been dumped in a large pile on the property where it remained.
I implored my tenants to please let me know if the yard was neglected as I was paying for services that were obviously not performing. I heard nothing from the tenants and returned a year later to find the yard in much the same condition again.
