ABJ Painting

When he came out to give me the estimate he told me everything he would be doing. He explained the prep work and what I could expect from the work he was going to do. I envisioned an amazing paint job. When he started the work he arrived in a regular compact car. I expected a truck with ladders as my home is a two-story. I asked him how he would paint without ladders. He said he would paint the home from the ground up. He started with pressure washing with a chemical that smelled like bleach. I asked him if he wanted to use my ladder and he said, “No” because the fumes would be too close to his face. He was there for about 2 hours. He said he would be back the next day at 9am with a helper. He came at 11am or 12pm with his helper and they were here for maybe a total of 3 hours working on patching. The work was sloppy and the patch work wasn’t smooth. He got an equivalent of one story of the home done and it took well over two weeks for that. By the time he finished the first story the weather was getting really bad. I ended up with windows with tape and clear plastic over them for 10 days. That wasn’t acceptable. I had to tear out one of the panels to the French door to get out. The last time he called me and told me he was sick and he didn’t know when he would be back. This was after I had given him $2000.00. Now I don’t have the money and the work is not complete.
