Find a Custom Home Builder
The job was poorly done and the most unprofessional contractor I have ever worked with . The job was supposed to be done by September , then Oct 15, finally November 1st. We staged the home and paid for professional photography . The contractor still had not finished . The quality of work was so poor and did not meet the final deadline. He threatened a lien on the property unless he had an opportunity to come back and finish the job. He came back and still took until mid December to finish and still left some items unfinished stating they were not in the scope of the job. (leaking hosebib) , tile not finished , caulking and paint not finished. The contractor did not enter the property other then 4 times in 4.5 months. The bid was so unspecified on the work to be done that the contractor could legally say "not within the scope". Paid 130,000.00 and the finish work was so poor and the stress of constant follow up and babysitting just to keep the job on task was tiring. Do not hire Dave
Response from Coast Salish Construction & Electrical, LLC
"We were contracted by an agency to take on this property to restore & make it marketable for resale. Mary [Consumer Name Removed] was/is the listing agent. She was very unprofessional, consistently showing up on the job site disrupting our crew during the process. For safety reasons this was communicated to the agency. She disregarded that, this was both a safety hazard as well as very distracting being under foot and in the crew's way. We were forced to stop work at one point for that reason. The Job had no finish date to the complexity of the house. The homeowner had a very low budget to work with. This property restoration began with 5 days in hazmat suits. 5 dogs resided within the home freely defecating/ urinating throughout. As a result, so many things were discovered once the job commenced. Rotted floors, faulty wiring, rodents, termites, all had to be eradicated/ addressed. Mary complained regarding items that were not included within our scope of work, desiring to have a custom home appearance to result in a larger sale price as relators do. This resulted in tremendous back & forth explaining/addressing those items, delaying final payment. We were forced to communicate implementing to lien the property to receive final payment. This obviously resulted in her complaint. We provide a great house for the money. This Person should not be selling home in this manner. Did the job go as planned? No due to soo many issues in the bones of the house. The process with communications between the agency/ real-estate agent then to the owners and back were so slow. Quality of work by far exceeded what they were willing to pay for due to the state of the home. You decide, view the property via Zillow or Redfin 7503 13th Ave Se. Looks Beautiful!! Listed for $520,000. We to date, are still awaiting final payment. To date have only been paid the initial down payment of 35K."

This contractor delivered high quality service, dependability, good value, integrity - they completed the project exactly as they said they would. They kept us apprised of challenges so we could decide what to do next and they were fair with their price adjustment. Start to finish, they stayed on the project until it was done. Our project was complex - replacing a support structure that was not entirely visible when they did their quote. The end product was beautiful - and they ran a tidy operation. I highly recommend them - and will be using them again for other projects. Super impressed - and relieved to have such a positive experience on a critical project.
