KINDER-CARE LEARNING CENTERS

Our child had been at a different Kindercare and had a good experience.  We moved, however, and thought the standards would be the same for all Kindercares.  We were sadly mistaken!The very first day of my child's attendance, the front door was unlocked.  It had a key code (which parents are given the code) but it was not locked and I walked right in.  No one was watching the front door (they have an office window at the entrance.)   As I came to find out, the door was not always locked and sometimes wide open.  I am used to a LOCKED standard.I didn't get smiles when I walked in the door, the staff would actually ignore me.   I am used to being greeted by the providers with a smile.When I had a problem, the director was rarely available. I WAS able to contact her assistant though.  Occasionally, I was told the director was at the "other" kindercare.   I am used to open and frequent communication with all staff including the director-expecially if I had a problem!Then, my child came home with lice!!!  I called Kindercare the next morning to notify them.  I was told they had a child recently who had lice.  I asked them if they posted it somewhere and they said yes, by the front entrance.  So, next time I went to Kindercare I looked all over and asked someone?. NO POST!  No note sent home to parents, no sort of notification.  I am not sure what the state laws are but I felt this was negligent.   As stated previously, I am used to open communication with all staff and the director.We used this Kindercare from November 2011-December 2011.  Needless to say, my child no longer attends this Kindercare.
