Fringe At The Parkway

I overheard a couple of ladies in the grocery check out talking about the great hair cuts they got from someone who works in the Fringe on the Parkway in Richland. I asked for the hairdresser's name and it was Anna. I made an appointment and got in within 4 days. When I arrived I only sat for 5 minutes before taking my chair. Anna was very nice and easy to talk with. She listened well and wanted to make sure at all times not to cut off too much hair as I did have very long hair. I felt her desire to make sure that I got the haircut I wanted. I can easily say she did a fantastic job cutting my hair. I will be going back to Anna as my primary hairdresser from now on....no more searching for someone who will do it right. The salon was nicely decorated and a pleasant place to have my hair done. It was in a great location with parking right out front of the door. I have lived in the Tri-Cities for 40 years and Anna is the first person I feel comfortable with and trust her ability to give me the cut and style that I have in mind. Thank you Anna.

I called the salon to make an appointment a little last minute. The woman who answered the phone said she could accommodate me in early in the morning in a day or two which worked for me. I showed up on time and she was already there. It turns out she doesn't technically work for the salon, I guess she rents a chair there but it seemed strange to me that I could only pay with cash or check as she wasn't able to use the credit card machine since she is not part of the salon. Anyway, I had brought in a picture of what I wanted the highlights to look like and what I DIDN'T want them to look like. She worked fairly fast which was nice but all during the process I had to listen to some horrific details of her personal life and her extended family's problems. I am talking things that you would only share with family or your therapist. It was the most depressing experience.
In the end, the cut was OK but the highlights were what I said I DIDN'T want. I told her my concerns and she suggested I go home and live with it and see if I would come to like it. That seemed reasonable. Well, I called a few days later to have her fix it which she was willing to do. When I arrived for the fix she had to leave to ask someone else how to do it and ended up just dabbing some temporary color over a few spots to hide the worst of it.
As the temporary color washed out, it went back to looking like what I didn't want.
I have heard that the owner of this salon is fantastic and so are some of his other hairdressers. I won't be back, though, after that experience.

The service, the creativity in the hair styles, the cuts, and the colors are excellent. She works with her clients to do what they wish. There have never been any issues or any problems. I have been going there for 3 years. There is no wait time, but you have to schedule ahead of time because she works by herself. She is the only one there.
