I will call Rob's Appliance Repair the next time we have any problems with our home appliances.
Great Job!!!!
Then on the second experience, we were simply disapointed overall. We had a magnetron replaced in our microwave. The person sent to the house doing the work, perhaps the same person, was less than professional again. He complained about taking the unit out of the cupboard and wanted me to do it? So in amazement I did. He replace the magnetron and the microwave was again working. It was fairly expensive, considering the person was not at our house very long and I was the one who removed the unit from the cupboard and put it back. So we paid for the servive and decided we would no longer do business with them and again moved on.
The worse part was when the manetron went dead again about 10-11 months after the installation. The part was under warranty, but it was too expensive to have them do it ...... again. So we ordered the new part and did it ourselves. The new part was again defective and did not work. When contacting the company it was a hassle to have the part replaced again. They were unable to accept that the part was again defective. The back and fourth emails between us and this company were remarkable. They did not appear to believe us that the part was again defective. We found it very unprofessionable. In the end we got a 3rd magnetron. The unit is working again. However, it has taken almsot 7 months to resolve the issue. We will no longer use Rob's.
"We would like to respond first with the fact that our invoice states that both parts and labor are guaranteed for a period of ninety days. However, the office manager went beyond the date and decided to look into helping this customer to get another “magnetron” from the manufacturer. The office manager had to contact the company we got the part from to see if we in fact could get another magnetron under warranty after 11 months (remember our invoice says 90 days). After checking into this and finding it could be replaced up to one year, she tried calling the customer and found “HE” was out of town on a business trip. When he returned the magnetron was given to him and then he sent his wife back with it to say there was a part missing from it (the part does not come with the magnetron) However, Rob gave the “missing” part to her for free. Weeks had gone by and the office manager received yet another call that the new magnetron again was bad/defective. In all Rob’s 32 years we’ve never seen this occur. Yet AGAIN – we replaced the magnetron. We supplied the customer with 3 magnetron parts without charge, after going through our parts division and having to be sure to get credit for the magnetron before replacing it. This part is a manufacture defective part and had nothing to do with our company – we believe the customer should really be upset with the manufacturer of the part and not our company. We went out of our way to completely satisfy the customer and yet we are bad mouthed for it. This doesn’t make much sense."
I called Rob's yesterday and was told that Craig, a repairman with the company 30+ years, would be out between 9-11 am today. He arrived promptly, found that the heating element in the dryer was not working and brought a new one in from the truck and installed it. In less than 24 hours from the time I made the call, the work was done. The dryer now works perfectly and I can get busy drying all that laundry I had built up!
We try to hire local small businesses to keep them going in these difficult times. Rob's was the perfect example of that. I would use this company again for any repairs we need to large appliances.
