UPDATE 4.2.24: "Renton Computers" is simply incompetent for my projector troubleshooting and did not offer a reasonable solution once sending it back to me broken. Another shop was able to identify there is a bad sensor and replaced them. Returned it to me in working order. Full review below. REVIEW: I dropped off my projector for troubleshooting. I let them know it would power on, then turn itself off within a few minutes after turning on, with no image the whole time. A week or so later they called me letting me know its ready. I came back to pick it up, asked if it was working now, she did not know. We then plugged it in to test it, still didn't display an image. She said the tech let her know the lamp was bad (I just replaced with a brand new one before coming in) so I asked if the tech just defaulted to that, or if they were able to test the lamp, she was not sure. So I left after that wasted visit, with the plan for the tech call me. He said he was able to test for resistance and determined the lamp was bad. I came back to pick it up, replaced with another brand new lamp, just to find it still had the same exact issue I dropped it off with. No image, powers down a minute or two after turning it on. So after all of that, I am back to where I started, after paying them for a diagnostic fee. I have a call into them asking to either refund the fee, or for me to drop it off again, pay for any additional parts and labor to get it in working condition. They declined and stated the diagnostic was accurate, despite I have the same exact issue as before dropping it off, after replacing the lamp with two brand new lamps, which they continue to blame the issue on. That is very, very clearly not the issue. They will take your money and do nothing. Do NOT bring items here for troubleshooting or a diagnostic. Take your computers and electronics to Fix to get in Tukwila, they are competent, communicative and fixed my projector when Renton Computers gave a completely inaccurate and incorrect diagnostic.

My Windows 7 gliched for some reason, so took it to Renton Computers. They advised to go to W-10 which I did, they made suggestions for Malware and Virus control which I followed. I have used them numerous times, always professional and willing to help over the phone.

They did a good job, prompt and at a reasonable price.

He fixed it quick.

Justin and Michael (the owner) were very personable and accommodating. Without paying for express service they still returned my computer in a very short time.

Justin patiently answered my questions, and he gave me both sides of the issue so that I could make up my own mind: repair the old computer (which he said was in very good shape other than the hard disk), or buy a new computer. I took his advice and got the old one repaired.

I did not have them do data recovery, which would have been more money. I have been very careful to back things up, so I was able to restore virtually all of what I needed.

Bottom line: very satisfied with the service.

This experience did teach me that being a back-up fanatic pays off!!!!!
