Here are just some of the innumerable examples I could mention. Dean left the two paint cans full of paint spills around the rim, and only placed the lids loosely on the top of the cans. They were not properly sealed. This is how I found them when I went into my garage two days after he finished and discovered the paint cans. There are green paint splotches on my white gutters. There is sloppy (very noticeable and uneven) brushwork on the beams holding up my patio roof. I washed the three doors to my house myself since I didn t trust that Dean would do a very good job washing them, just based on some things I d already seen that he had done. And these after he said that he would clean before he painted. I don t know what his definition of clean is, but it s clearly not very clean. Dean wasn t even going to paint the doors, as it turned out when I asked him. He was going to leave them the old color, beige. He did paint them but in many spots on each door the beige paint shows through. He missed many spots around the edges of all the doors and molding; there are noticeable beige spots on the doors as well as around the door knobs and locks. I have two posts that help provide support for the carport roof. He wasn t going to paint these either; just leave them beige. And he did, in fact, not completely paint them. The backsides are not finished; there is a lot of beige still there. There are many, many chips of old paint on the ground in my landscaping that they scraped off and just left there---literally all around my house and garage. Dean had promised me that he would vacuum up all of the mess but clearly he did not. There were many places in the siding where the paint was flaking off from several layers of paint, and sometimes down to bare wood. The contract I signed said that he would scrape all loose paint and sand some of the severe areas. Well, there are still areas after he painted that are flaking and peeling, and that are pretty severe. His workers did not properly prepare or prime several of these patches. He sprayed mildewcide but did not completely rinse it off and now there are big splotches of white mildewcide showing up on top of the paint. There were a couple of holes in the side door left from nails etc. When I asked him about patching, Dean said of course he would patch them. I actually question whether he would have patched the holes, since he didn t patch other holes around my house after pulling out nails. He did put spackle or something over and around the holes in the door, about 1.5 inches in diameter, but he did not sand over the patch areas before he painted the door. Even I as a non-professional would have sanded the patches before I painted them. The patched areas are very noticeable, and I see them every time I go in and out of the door.
