 + -1 moreMy wife and I would like to share our good experience and extend our recommendation of Craig Harvey Onyx Masonry, Renton Washington. We contracted Craig to install variegated flagstone to our entry steps, entry deck, patio, patio steps and to build a patio fire pit and a bench. Although it was a large job, the work performed was accomplished in a continuous timely fashion while maintaining a tidy clean job site. He was easy to contact, was a good communicator, was willing to walk through the job process and worked with us to alleviate any concerns as they popped up. The stone work is beautiful, we are extremely happy with the results, would have Craig work for us again and highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Installed flagstone on top of a cement patio with steps, & entry deck with steps. Designed & built a fire pit and a bench.

Description of Work: Craig built a very beautiful outdoor hand cut stone fireplace/fire pit in my backyard, that I had been dreaming about for years.

 + -1 moreOn both occasions, he arrived on time, presented himself in a low-key professional manner and clean-up any debris. In some ways, there is little to say other than that we were pleased and we were dealing with a person who cared about doing to right thing for his customer.
Description of Work: In less than 12 months, we engaged Onyx Masonry on two different projects. Both project involved masonry work for fireplaces. The first project as to reinforce the firebox masonry in our frequently used wood-burning fireplace. We anticipated the need to rebuild the firebox, but he was able to point to that we just needed some minor repair work. He completed the work in one day and we have had no issues. The second project was to another wood-burning fireplace to a gas-insert. The fireplace facade had been done in brick and the opening was arched. We needed to have the opening modified to accommodate the insert. This time we expected a minor job and he pointed out a structural concern and was able to address the issue the next day.

Description of Work: I have a wood burning fireplace and the brick in the firebox was starting to crumble. Craig (owner of Onyx) gave me a fair assessment on the type of repair needed. I had received estimates from others for nearly 3 times the cost. He arrived on time, did the work, within the timeframe and cost he had estimated. He also gave some great recommendations. I was very pleased with his work and strongly recommend him.
