Mathewson's Automotive is a complete service and repair for cars, trucks, motor homes and all types of specialty vehicles, foreign and domestic. • Performance Tuning • Transmissions • Fuel Injection Repair • Tires • Electric • Four Wheel drives • Brakes • A/C repair • Warranty work • Mufflers Mathewson's presently has 12 full time employees. We have seven technicians that have been with us a total of 106 years with a combined total of 230 years experience. We also have a service manager, service advisors, lube tech and a courtesy driver. Being an AC Delco Quality Installer shop qualifies us for training at the General Motors schools. All of our techs are on an ongoing training program and all are ASE certified. I know my husband had issues with them sometimes in the past. What they could do differently, basically fix the problem the first time. We have a couple classic cars and my husband is not the one that repairs them. He usually takes them there because they specialize in classic cars too, but a lot of times there are minor problems that are hard to find and hard to fix and so I guess take their time and listen to their customer.

They are super. They are reasonably priced, they are informative and friendly, and they don't try to do extra stuff. They only do what needs to be done. They are great folks and they've taken care of us for a number of years now. I trust them completely to repair my car and not do things that don't need to be done on my car. You can trust them to take good care of your car and not take advantage of you, they'll answer any questions that you have without making you feel like a silly girl who doesn't understand what's going on with the car. They are locally on business which I like.

I went with them because they work on diesels. I went online looking because I am trying to get away from my dealership. Here I am with the big 7.3 diesel van and I need some specific service and they can’t do it. If they do it, they charge me on the leg; so I found somebody else who seems to be a little bit cheaper, a little bit more responsive and a little bit more personable. That’s why I went with Mathewson's Automotive. I wanted to get away from the dealership and I went to these people. They were personable, took care of me and they had a “we care” attitude.

We had work done as described above. It went good, however, the steering was never adjusted and is sloppy to steer. I called for additional repairs to fix this before the warranty expired and they advised they are too busy and to try them back in the winter.

We have been taking our vehicles to Mathewson's Automotive for years. They always do an exceptional job and are completely thorough and professional.
Last time we were there for an oil change, everything went as planned - we arrived on time and the oil change was done right away. During the oil change, they also let us know if they see anything that needs to be addressed. There is no pressure from them to have the work performed immediately, but they just let us know if something needs attention in future.
I will continue going back to Mathewson's since we are extremely pleased with their work.

We have been using them for a long time and we have always gotten great service from them. They stood by their products. One time they made a mistake and they replaced the whole system that was affected at no charge.

The work was well done, but they were less than friendly, and took massively too long to do it. We arranged for the work to be done while we were away for 2 weeks on a trip. When we got back the work was not started, and the parts not ordered. Even then it took longer still than they had originally estimated by over five days, and the bill was 50% higher than the estimate (much more labor they said.

I dropped the car off at about 8:30AM. I wanted the routing maintenance performed and also to have the alignment done, since the car hadn't had it done in a while. I hadn't heard back from them by 2:30, so I had to call and leave a message. I was called back less than 10 minutes later. They'd done the maintenance, but had not done the alignment because the tires were shot. They'd also checked the starter battery and said it was marginal and should be replaced.
They provided me with the bill for the services they'd done and estimates for replacing the tires with an alignment afterwards as well as an estimate for changing the battery.

I trust them to do good quality work. I think they are kind of expensive - I wouldn't give them an A on price - but you get what you pay for. They are reputable and responsible. They have been around for a long time.
