Jeff Hockenson We have worked with Jeff H twice now, and I am sad to report his work was subpar to average, his communication awful, and his integrity worst of all. His initial work as the point-guy in our kitchen remodel with Keystone Kitchens was average, though he caused (and luckily we diagnosed) 2 gas leaks. His mis-measuring of the countertop was a mistake Keystone ate, but it was notable. He begged us for, and thrilled with our new kitchen, we gave him, a good Angie’s List review. While he did this remodel, he voiced strong opinions about the lack of skill and integrity of the group doing our downstairs bath remodel, so I hired him to repair their work. I also hired him to fix the mud marks and paint the kitchen ceiling, after he installed the ceiling mounted fan. I now know he sanded but never painted the ceiling, though he charged us for it. Somehow at the time, we still believed in him and his integrity. But after calling him back for our upstairs bath remodel, he “lost”our schluter during his post-demo dump run. He also made as he called it “executive decisions” about the lost schluter (bull nose substitute) without consulting us, purchased and installed products we never approved. Then he tiled our bath-surround without bringing the tile to the edges of the wall. Instead he left a 90 degree corner uncovered by tile, just raw mud that began chipping away in the first day. When he said he was done with all work, we inspected and said the corner needed to be addressed. He was furious and screamed at my husband on the phone, smoked a cigarette in our non-smoking house, then disappeared without fixing the problems he created. Jeff often spoke of his tiling business, his pride in his workmanship, his integrity and his communication. We took a chance on him, but sadly found all of these things lacking.
