GREEN'S LANDSCAPING CO

I just bought a house and needed dirt to relandscape. I saw an ad for free Clean fill dirt. I called J.D. and asked him what was in the dirt he had. He said, dirt, sand, and some rocks. He said, it would be good for my job. I went over to the property with the dirt and talked to his son, Josh. I trusted what I was told because they are landscapers and did not have any bad reviews on Angie's list or recent reviews. Josh brought out several truck loads.
The next day I had a stump removed by a professional stump grinder. He asked about the dirt and said it was "junk".
The he politely explained glacial till to me and that I had been given clay soil with some dirt, lots of rocks, some big rocks, and construction garbage consisting of concrete, bricks, metal, glass, drain pipe, and tree parts. I had several other professionals come and look at it and all agreed.
I called J.D. explained the situation based on information he told me, and asked if he would pick it back up. He said he would and he would call back the next day. J.D. admitted he hadn't been out to the property in 6 months and didn't know what was in the product he was advertising. He never called back. However, the word, Clean, was removed from the ad.
J.D. never responded to any of my phone calls. I called his office and Wendy said their cell phones were having problems. I asked to go to their worksite to speak to either of them. She said she didn't know where they were working.
I took a chance, went over to his worksite and spoke with Josh. Josh said he would come get the dirt for $50.00 a load. 
I had 4 truck loads.When I got home, I had arranged a backhoe service waiting for Josh to arrive, at that moment, J.D. texted me and said he wouldn't haul my dirt. He said go hire another company to haul out the loads.
Then J.D. said the worksite wasn't his job but his son's business, which is Highmark Enterprises out of Covington. I called Josh and he said he would call me the next day and haul out several loads. He has never called.
One estimate I got was going to cost $800 to remove this "junk".
Each person's story kept changing, promises made, lack of follow through, and a total frustration.
I regret the day I callled either of these companies.

Green's has done work for us before, and we wanted to extend some rock walls that he installed previously. We also asked him to clear out some old ivy and other plants to clean up the place, and put in fresh bark. It took several weeks to schedule the task (about three), and took three weeks to complete (because of the concrete edging), but it was all done very professionally.

The experience was fine. The man came out one time and looked over the job. He came back and dropped off the estimate but it was just too much.

Went very well. He finished the job when he said he would. The wall looks very nice, and is exactly what we asked for and expected. He builds very nice rock walls.

J.D. is outstanding on building rock walls. He and his crew were very flexible with changes I wanted and they had great suggestions for both function and aesthetics. He was extremely prompt on his bid (best of any contractor I've dealt with lately) and showed up exactly on time. They left the site in great shape when they were finished.

GREEN'S WAS PATIENT WITH HER AND LISTENED TO WHAT WE WANTED DONE. THE YARD LOOKS GREAT. THEY ALSO LAID BARK DOWN AFTER WEEDING ALL OF THE BEDS. IT IS AN AMAZING TRANSFORMATION.
