Jamie was great. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Since we are new to septic systems he explained how to clean the filter every 3-4 month to help maintain our older system.

All the reviews about Gary's service are accurate and describe his work ethics. He is an honorable, hard working guy that gets the job done, cares about his work and doesn't try to rip you off. I can't say enough about the guy, I am sorry to hear he is retiring, luckily his son Jamie, septic tank service, has inherited his dad's work ethics and is the next guy I will call when needed.  Prompt, does the job correctly and cleans up after himself.

I HIGHLY recommend Gary or his son Jamie with absolutely no hesitation!

After my ground floor toilet overflowed and upon noticing a backup in my ground floor shower, I called Vortex Plumbing (Also highly recommend) late on a Saturday night.  They came Sunday morning and were able to diagnose my problem was most likely due to my septic tank being clogged and advised that I call a septic tank company and get my tank cleared and working first before I had them snake any of my drains since that was more than likely where my problem was.  I then called several companies and only Gary was able to come out Sunday to clear and pump my tank.  He had another job ahead of me but said I should make sure the sewer line coming into my tank was clear before he showed up to pump my tank.  After describing the two lids visible on my septic tank and what was underneath them, he let me know there should be a third lid closer to my house that would allow access to right where my sewer line first enters my tank and that I would need to take a pole or stick and push down thru the "T" to clear the back up and allow my sewer line to drain.  Unfortunately that meant I needed to hand dig thru about 2.5 feet deep of dirt about 4 feet towards the house in 28 degree weather while the Seahawks played the Steelers.  Gary let me know I needed to do that, find the access lid and clear the clog before he came out to pump the tank.  He called back a couple of times to check on my progress.  After accessing the buried third lid and trying unsuccessfully to clear the clog my running a pole thru the vertical part of the "T", Gary advised me that I'd need to clear the incoming sewer line and let me know it was probably clogged within 10 feet of the tank in most circumstances.  He said I could run a hose with a jet nozzle up the line and that 98% of the time that would clear it.  I ended up, though, renting a heavy duty 50 ft snake from Home Depot to clear the clog.  What a messy job!!  After all the mess and after using 3 different bits to finally clear the clog, I gained new appreciation for the job plumbers and septic tank pumpers do and believe they're worth every penny you pay them.  I'd have paid someone else to snake the line if I'd had the time, but with a large family at home I needed to get the septic system operational as fast as possible.  Gary and his advice was hugely instrumental in getting my tank going Sunday night.  It was so late by the time I finally got the clog cleared that Gary said he would come out first thing Monday morning since my septic tank was now functional and the immediate emergency was over.  Gary showed up on time and did a great job pumping and cleaning my septic tank and the associated holding tank where my pump is that pumps the grey water out to my lateral field.  Gary had to make a trip to empty his holding tank and then return to pump the rest due to my having around 1400 gallons needing to be pumped out between my septic tank and holding tank.  Gary is knowledgeable, prompt, fairly priced, and willing to go the extra mile to help the customer.  I'm sorry he is planning on retiring in another year since I'd be sure and use him the next time I need my septic system cared for.  Fortunately he has a son in the business.  If he's anything like his Dad, I'll be using him the next time I need my septic tank serviced.

Gary arrived within 3 hours of the call and within the window he said he would. He was quite knowledgeable and educated us first-time septic owners about how the system works. Besides pumping the septic tank, he also looked at our drainfield pump tank, and showed us how to check for solids accumulating on the bottom. He also noted that our septic alarm was improperly installed, and showed us how to easily fix it. I came away with an empty septic tank and a valuable lesson about our septic system. Plus he is a personable, nice guy!

I called him on a Monday morning. He came out that afternoon to assess the situation. He gave me the bad news that my drain system probably needed to be totally redone. He gave me a referral which I called and hired.m Gary came back a couple of days before the scheduled work and pumped out the septic tank in preparation.

I gave Gary a B in Professionalism because he scolded me, more than once, for not having the septic tank pumped sooner.
