DUNN LUMBER NORTHWEST INC

I recently replaced all of the 30 y.o. aluminum frame windows and patio door with high quality vinyl windows and a sliding patio door. The white exterior trim on 3 windows looked dingy because the extra rough surface of the cedar boards on those windows cast shadows. The window company agreed to replace the trim on the 3 windows, but asked that I pick out the lumber at Dunn Lumber Northwest Co. located in Renton, WA at 120 Factory Ave N. This location is also known as Dunn Lumber Co. in Renton, WA. I went to the lumber company in the afternoon on Friday, 3/13/15. Josh knew about the pre-paid order from the window company and began showing me boards. He said that because it was a Friday, they had fewer smoother boards than extra rough cedar boards; the smoother boards are available earlier in the week. Dunn lumber employees Josh, Robert, and Preston dug through several stacks of cedar to find smoother boards that would match my pictures of smoother vs extra rough exterior trim on the new windows. Josh was creative in selecting some smoother boards that were longer than needed, and then cut them to the required length. Since I'm not familiar with the Renton area, I had printed driving directions to and from this Dunn Lumber location. Since rush hour traffic was starting, I asked Paul, another Dunn Lumber employee, if there was a way back to Issaquah where I live without using I-405. He kindly drew me a map and talked me through the directions which saved me about an hour of travel. The staff and service at this Dunn Lumber location were great, and the window installer who is installing the new trim is happy with the quality!
