The flow of subcontractors was managed exceptionally well, even with some inclement weather.Issues that arose surrounding problems with our two remaining foundations walls were discussed with us along with potential ways to approach this and the project moved forward with minimal delay.
The framing of the house went extremely well and, when we wanted a change in the second floor to have more of the ceiling opened, a revision plan was reviewed with the subcontractor and the change was made efficiently. This is but one example of the give-and-take we were able to have in working with Chris.
Despite there being a superintendent assigned to our house project, Chris was personally involved throughout, and he met with us weekly, usually on site, to review the progress and to confirm next steps.
Once the building permit was secured, the demolition and subsequent construction of the house began in July 2010 and we received our occupancy certificate in May 2011. Prior to the end of our first year, we received a reminder about the one year warranty review. We had several issues we asked cMAC to look at and each was dealt with efficiently with a schedule developed for the subcontractors who needed to correct something to come to the house at our convenience.
We cannot stress enough how absolutely satisfied we were with cMAC's work. Chris and his office staff, Diane, were wonderful throughout. Initially, we were not going to have the basement finished, but as the project proceeded and we realized what a superb contractor we had, we added this to the project. For the contract initially developed, we were on budget; for things that we added, we received both fair estimates and great work.
Moreover, Chris generously went the extra mile to help resolve a significant issue that came up with a tree company I'd hired to remove trees to make room for the addition--- this was totally outside the work he was hired to do, and very much appreciated.
Mike, the construction supervisor, is easy to work with, and very personable. The tradespeople CMAC brought in for the various phases of work were honest, skilled and professional. Diane, the administrative assistant, is organized, friendly, and puts together very helpful "schedule of values" spread sheets that keep everyone on the same page.
The construction came in on schedule, on budget, and with great communication throughout the process. I recommend Chris Welch/CMAC without reservation.
