I dealt with American Drapery in 2003 when we remodeled our
3000 sq ft home. They handled the remodeling job in a professional,
timely manner and I was very pleased with the sales department and
installers. I recently needed to match the vinyl flooring to repair
a bathroom. I called American Drapery and they still had the same vinyl
flooring. In order to get it quickly, which meant locally, I
had to order about 2 times more than I needed. The vinyl was to arrive on
Friday. It didn't. I called Monday morning and assumed that it was
on the way. It wasn't. They said it would be delivered Tuesday
morning by 10:00 am. It wasn't. I called Tuesday mid-day and was
told it wouldn't arrive until Wed. morning at 9:00 am. It finally did.
That's a long time to wait for vinyl to be delivered from Tacoma to Kent.
The people at the shop and the driver were all rude and seemed to think this
was no big. Because of their inefficiency I had to send my
installers home on Tuesday.
Apparently American Drapery has gone to just commercial sales / installation so
dealing with a homeowner was not a big money maker for them. Too bad
they didn't handle this small order in a professional, timely
manner. We own an office building. And I can promise you, we won't
be contacting them when it's time for new carpet etc.

I am pleased to provide an update to this review. A customer service employee and the salesman I dealt with both contacted me this week. Both people were extremely apologetic and sorry to hear I had such a bad experience. Both agreed my order, no matter how small, should not have been handled that way. I explained to both of them how excellent their service was in 2003 which was way I was upset for the long delay in receiving my order. It's nice to know a company cares about what customers think. The fact that they took the time to call and apologize means a lot. I sincerely appreciate the follow-up.

The work was kind of so-so. The blinds that we ended up deciding on were okay. The solution that we came up with for my bedroom doesn't really work quite right. We don't know whether it is their fault or if we kind of pushed for the wrong solution. The guy was in and out quickly and did a thorough job. It is just that we aren't happy with the final job in the bedroom because it lets a little too much light in. We didn't want it too dark and we ended up with it a little too light. Their pricing was what they said it would be and they were prompt and on time. It didn't take them very long to get them installed. We are okay on 3 of the blinds. We probably should have made a better choice on the bedroom. We would probably use them again.

The blinds came in quickly from their plant & were installed promptly & professionally. The flooring was installed within approximately one week from the time we placed the order & it looks fantastic. There was one minor issue with the flooring itself & they brought out a supervisor and fixed the situation immediately. Awesome service!!! Their installer did a fabulous job and I would highly recommend them.

The ordering and selection went OK. The salesman stopped by on time and measured my bedroom to order the correct quantity. HOWEVER, after waiting three weeks I called the company and found that the carpet had been received six days before and I had not been called. The carpet installers showed up when scheduled and installed the new carpet, removing the old, with no problems and in good order. Everything else was fine.

After 7 months we finally have the finished product. The time it took to deliver the window coverings was excessive. Made calls to find out status on order only to find out order had been sitting there for a couple of weeks. Due to color issues with our new paint, we asked for some of the window coverings to be altered. After an excessive amount of time, the new window coverings came in but were not what was ordered. The analyst tried to tell us they were exactly as ordered and that we should take installment and learn to live with the new coverings. Also stated that she thought the coverings were beautiful when in fact they were quite ugly. We pulled out the copy of the contract and proved the coverings were not what was ordered. New material was ordered and window coverings reworked to our satisfaction. For the calls we made as well as the time we spent without window coverings, we should have been offered some discount here. Won't use this company again!!!!!

Rhonda was a gem! She came to my home and immediately understood what types of blinds would work, taking into account the design of the windows, furniture, carpets, family lifestyle, and budget. She was thorough in her measurements, verified the order with me twice, and explained in detail the ordering and installation process. The blinds arrived and were installed by their technician exactly three weeks later; drapery was installed four weeks later as planned. Installation was quick, professional and well done. I highly recommend them.

AMERICAN DRAPERY SENT OUT A DESIGNER AND HELPED ME CHOOSE THE RIGHT TREATMENT FOR MY WINDOWS. I NEEDED SOMETHING TO BLEND WITH BOTH ANTIQUES AND LEATHER. SHE PICKED THE BEST POSSIBLE CHOICE AND THEN ASKED FOR MY OPINION. AWESOME!

WE DELIVERED OUR BLINDS AND WERE PROMISED THEY'D BE READY THE NEXT WEEK. THEY CONTACTED US WHEN THEY WERE DONE AND WE PICKED THEM UP. THEY LOOKED AND SMELLED GREAT AND THE NEW STRING WORKED GREAT.

OUR SALES PERSON CAME OUT AND SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME WITH US SINCE THIS WAS NEW TO US. SHE TOOK ALL THE MEASUREMENTS AND THEN WE SAT DOWN AND SHE SHOWED US A HUGE VARIETY OF SHADES, MINI BLINDS ETC. WE HAD OUR SHADES AND MINI BLINDS INSTALLED IN ABOUT 4-WEEKS. ALTHOUGH WE ENDED UP HAVING ONE MINI BLIND GO BAD AFTER ABOUT A MONTH THEY CAME RIGHT OUT MEASURED FOR ANOTHER ONE AND HAD IT INSTALLED AS SOON AS IT CAME IN. GREAT SERVICE.
