Do not hire this company even if they are the last contractors on earth!!!!! Although the work was satisfactory when it was actually accomplished, it was like pulling teeth to get the work done. Early on, work ceased for month, while they were "waiting for a delivery of lumber" (we live only about a half mile from Lowe's, which sells lumber) and while Kelly was skiing or vacationing in California. They missed the completion date by 7 weeks. As we has been planning to rent the unit on air bnb, we estimate that missing more than a month of the summer travel season cost us at least $6000 in revenue. Endless excuses and lies and no apologies.
The crew was small (there was usually only one worker if anyone showed up at all) so two elements of the work could never be going on at the same time. Throughout, although the workers were agreeable guys, there was a stunning lack of care and respect for the owners' unrelated property. Someone used a crow-bar to remove an expensive Invisible Fencing transformer from the wall, thus destroying it. No notice that the system was going to be dismantled that afternoon. A load of the owners belongings had to be moved out of the garage and it was set on the curb and left there. Fortunately, I happened to be nearby to wrestle it out of the hands of a passerby who reasonably assumed it was up for grabs. In their defense, I admit that the workers did not cut down the grapevine which I asked them to spare.
To top it off, a lien was placed on our house because of Kelly's failure to pay a sub-contractor although he specifically billed us separately for that work. He must have used the money for some other purpose because the lien was not lifted until we made a direct payment into the hands of the subcontractor who said that Kelly's company was the most unprofessional he'd ever dealt with in 28 years. He stated that he would never work with him again even with payment in full in advance.
As the cherry on top of the toxic sundae, over three months after our final payment for the work which included many extra costs, we were presented with a post-final bill for "expenses that Kelly "missed". We do not intend to be paying permanent ransom to this extremely dishonest and unprofessional contractor.
