Ric's Garage Door & Opener Service

I left an A review a couple of years ago because I found the company to be responsive and their technician was friendly and seemed competent. It turns out I was wrong. I had them replace my Genie opener. They replaced it with a Liftmaster. Little did I know that he did not replace a certain bracket on the garage door itself. Apparently there is a difference between a Genie and a Liftmaster beyond just the motor - this bracket should have been replaced. A week ago it ripped out of my [metal] garage door and went flying. This left us with no opener. My husband did some research and made some calls and learned that this particular bracket should have been replaced with something specific to the Liftmaster. Now the door has raggedy ripped up holes, so that wasn't an option, but we found another solution and are back in business. I didn't bother to call the company since it was probably well out of warranty, but I am sharing so others know to ask when they have new openers installed - don't assume the existing hardware is appropriate.

We knew in advance that it took 5 weeks to order the new Garage Door -Amarr Heritage HR-300- from the East Coast! It is a double steel panel with Polystyrene insulation R-9.05. It took about 4 hours for a technician to remove the old door and install the new one, which works very well with the old garage opener. Over all, the job was done professionally, on-time, with customer-satisfaction; The cost of service is good market price. The warranty period is for 1 year (parts & labor). If something goes wrong, just call the owner of Garage Tech, Chris Karmil. We strongly recommend this Firm for a job well done!

I called Ric's Garage Door Doctor to come out and finish a garage door repair that had been started by another garage door repair company that said they were unable to complete the job because they had the wrong part and were unable to get the correct one. This other company had terrible customer service, repeatedly gave us the run around in terms of when they could come back to complete the job, and never returned our phone calls. On the advice of a neighbor I called Ric's Garage Door Doctor and Collin and Justin came out. These guys did a great job. They were on time, knowledgeable and fast, and were able to use the "wrong part" that the other company had left behind without any problem. They also discovered and corrected some things that the first garage door company had done that could have caused a dangerous situation. Collin and Justin were very nice and had excellent customer service. If we ever have another garage door problem, Ric's Garage Door Doctor will be the first company that I will call, and I would recommend them to my friends in a heartbeat.

Same Day Sunday appointment. Called them at 8 and it was fixed by 10:30. Great service and thorough professional repair.

Great - first call they made some suggestions that I try first (to avoid the service charge if it was something simple). I called them back when the problem continued. It was still something simple and the tech did a tune up since he was already there.

Excellent. Service was prompt and professional - next day! The part I was looking for was in stock and Josh came out to do a friendly and speedy installation. This - despite the manufacturer telling me via phone that our door is too old to accommodate the new panel. Josh also tuned up our door and it is operating like a brand new door again. Thank you Ric's Garage Door Service for saving me thousands of dollars in not having to buy a whole new door!

First I call Sears and the earliest they could get someone here was 11 days. Then I called Ric's and talked with a real nice lady who told me they could have someone come out Monday. She called back Monday about 8:15 am saying Ric was on his way and would be here within a half hour. Sure enough he was here early as stated. fixed the beams and the keypad which I was also having problems with and left wishing me a merry Christmas and wouldn't take any money. I can't find the words to say how wonderful I think he is.

Our garage door opener stopped working.  I called Ric's based on all the great reviews I saw on Angie's List.  I was not disappointed.  The technician, Josh, came out to assess the situation.  He is very knowledgeable, experienced and polite.  Not only was my opener not working, but the springs were clearly shot as were the rollers, which is why it was so noisy when it opened.  Josh was able to repair everything for me and now the door opens like a dream.  I would definitely use this company again!

The technician called in the morning and provided a two-hour window when he'd be onsite.  He showed up as promised.  He was friendly and well-organized. He cleaned up after himself and was done in about 1.5 hours. 

Although I wish we hadn't had to replace the opener, the pricing is consistent with the cost of some of the deals I've seen here on Angie's List.  I would not have purchased one of those because at the time I wasn't sure we'd need to replace the unit.

Given the ease with which we were able to schedule the appointment, the responsiveness and professionalism of the technician, and the reasonable price, I will use this provider again if we need garage door services.

The springs on my door broke late in the afternoon on Thursday - thankfully without trapping my car inside. I called Ric's garage door and they were able to set me up with an appointment the next day. I got a call with a service window in the morning, they were right on time and made quick work of the replacement. The door's operating perfectly, quieter than it was before.
