Jim Farr

Jim and Maryann Farr worked extensively with my family and I to find a home.  In total we spent 1 1/2 years to find the right home.  We must have looked at more than 100 homes.  I point this out just because throughout the whole time Jim and Maryann maintained a professional, pleasant, upbeat attitude as we drove around the county trying to find the right match. 

We moved to the Seattle area from Vancouver WA and were expecting to find the home prices and quality to be similar to those we had in the lower portion of the state.   We had no knowledge of the area and communities surrounding Redmond but lucky for us we were referred to Jim.  In our first meeting Jim showed us a map of the area and told us about how the different cities surrounding Redmond compared.  He described the typical cost and age of homes to be found in the different parts of the different cities and how close they were to the different Microsoft connector bus stops.  He helped us understand the different school boundary lines and how the schools rated.  Using this knowledge we talked about what kind of home we came from and what we were looking for.  Jim was then able to suggest different areas and cities we could focus on to find the best match. 

After that the search had begun.  He would email us groups of home listing for us to look at online and talk to us about benefits of this or that home.  We would email him a list of different homes we found online and he would do research about those and let us know more about them.  Using this back and forth method we then would get a group of homes we wanted to see pulled together and we would drive around to see them.  Jim was pleasant, and observant as we walked through the homes.  Sometimes the home would be hard to really see because of the way the house was decorated but Jim would point out things like, "did you notice that this floor isn't level in this room, I wonder what is going on there", or he would point out "see how the wood is rotted at the end of the boards there, this fence is going to need replacing soon".   These comments were EXTREMELY helpful as I would sometimes just be looking at the surfaces of the house and the neighborhood and not really seeing the complete picture.    I came to really trust and value Jim's observations in helping me pick a quality home that was also a good value.   

The long and short of it is that I would HIGHLY recommend Jim Farr's services as a Realtor whether I was buying a new home or selling my existing home.  I will definitely be using his services again in the future.
