Paco came over 3 weeks ago to give us a bid on a Living-room floor that we were converting from carpet to laminate/vinyl flooring. He seemed super knowledgeable and was able to give us a quote. We found out that the floor needed to be self-leveled, so be came back, did some measurements, and said he would give us another quote by that evening. Didn’t hear back from him. Texted him the next day. Nothing. 4 days later I call him and left a voicemail. He finally texts me back, telling me they are too busy and he won’t be able to do the job for us anymore. He didn’t even give me the common courtesy to call me and talk it over. So we wasted 3 weeks with him, and now we have to start the whole process over again. Super unprofessional!

If you have a plethora of extra time and money, this is your place. The owner, Francisco (nicknamed Paco) botched my installation, permanently damaging the new carpet and (according to the manufacturer’s warranty brochure) voided the carpet warranty. Pretty much all that can be done wrong was indeed done wrong: he knowingly installed carpet with existing stains; tried cleaning the stains by hand with full-strength store bought carpet cleaner concentrate – only making them worse; carpet seams were placed in high-traffic, noticeable areas; seams had exposed chunks of glue, melted carpet and were rough to the touch; carpet tack strips protruded through the carpet far enough to cut our bare feet on; carpet on stairs was installed without padding over the nose, leaving sharp plywood edges to be felt under the carpet and quickly pulled loose on the front edge due to staples falling out on their own – need I say more? When confronted on how he would resolve the issues, he refused to say, but insisted he come back and could 'easily' resolve them. How you ask? Still a mystery to this day. After calling 4 other carpet companies for their advice/opinions and being told by all of them that I received a ‘hack job’ for an install, there was no way I was letting Francisco back into my house – I felt 100% dooped and had lost all confidence in his abilities. We ended up in small-claims court (my first experience), and unfortunately for me the law favored him. Lesson learned was that when you sign a contract, you are stuck with the contractor to the bitter end, no matter what. In this case, everything sounded good at the start, he had a nice demeanor, young upstart company, assurances of great experience and professionalism, and worthy of supporting. But in the end, I got screwed. I do not recommend Craftcore, as from my experience they are missing the most important thing – the ability to complete a proper installation. I had my carpet re-done by another local company, Nielson Brothers, and highly recommend them. They fully live up to their years of solid reputation – I love my new carpet. No matter who you go with, I recommend reading the CRI 105 Carpet Installation Guidelines and the manufacturer’s warranty brochure to make sure you’re fully educated when going into your carpet installation. Good luck with your decision and install!

"Case number 22CIV16046KCX After reading your post and what happened during court we would ask that next time you would write the correct information. During this year long process I informed you that we would be out there to address your concerns but you denied us access from going back to your house. We even had our lawyer contact you so we can reach a mutual agreement but you still denied us from coming to an agreement. For the stains, I asked you to send over pictures to get a claim going but you didn’t send them saying you weren’t at the house which we needed them to start a claim. You kept claiming we voided your warranty but you had no factual proof that we did. Instead of working with us to get your concerns address you decided to get the “carpet removed” (it’s in our email) and do what you wanted. I informed my sales rep that you removed the carpet and they sent us back an email saying that you didn’t follow the correct procedures and the customer has voided the warranty for removing the carpet making you liable. During the court date I explained that to the judge and you and how we could have address your concerns. You stated that the job was a hack and had 4 other contractors come in but you had no email or letter backing up your claim. After the judge ruled in our favor you pointed out that we could still go back and fix the carpet even though under oath you stated that the carpet was gone, and then you stated that the carpet was in your garage. Ms. [Member Name Removed] that is on the borderline of fraud. Please next time don’t spread lies, the truth always comes out. There’s a lot to the story, if you would like to read about it I have attached the case number for anyone wanting to read about the full story."
