In Oct. 2011 Justin was hired to stain our deck.  He brushed the edges and rolled the rest.  There were issues from the beginning and at the beginning of the summer 2012  there are areas that have peeled off on one deck and the other, much of that deck has peeled.  There are distinct lines between where he hand brushed and rolled.  There are dripping between the boards.   Some of the railing paint (white) dripped from the rain.  During the process he would tell me he would be here at 10:00 am and show up at 1:00 pm.  This happened any number of times where he was never there when he said he would be.  Since the work had a warranty, I tried to call him many times this summer and it took awhile before he finally returned my calls.  He is out of that business but promised he would fix it this summer.  No word.  I tried to call again and again he promised to correct the deck by the end of August.  Again, no word.  At this point I have given up and I am so sorry that I did not withhold more of the monies till the deck was done satisfactorily.  In addition, when he said he would come back, he told me I had to buy the new stain again.  Sherwin Williams told me there is no way this deck ever should of been stained that late in the season here in this area of Seattle.  Since Justin's business was exterior painting, I would have thought he would have told me that to begin with.  That would have eliminated this whole issue.  I would never use him again for anything.  I'm just furious.  To his benefit, he is nice enough.  But that doesn't do me much good at this point in time.  I wish I'd been smarter.

Last year he painted our living room with cathedral ceilings, hallway, one bedroom and stairwell. This year, he just finished the exterior of our house with a main color and two trim colors. I didn't even have to think about it - he just arrived when the weather was fine for painting and did his job and left every thing clean and put away. With our unpredicatable weather, he would just call me to let me know he was coming. Since he was doing the exterior, I didn't even need to be home.
