Scammers and liars , I called SGA to check out my gate because it stopped working , after couple of days someone came out with no tools or parts had only a Multimeter, there was no power going to the control board and he told me i need a new control board , i don’t know how could he do that without power !!! he literally spent three minutes and then took a picture of the control board and said he or another technician wil come out with a new control board but never heard back from them , a few days later i took the battery to an auto part store and asked them to test it , they said the battery was seven years old and it’s dead, so i purchased a new battery , after installing it back the control board started working just fine. i called SGA and asked them what happened and i told them that the board is fine and their technician did not diagnose anything so they stared making up stories and gave me a whole bunch of lies DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT ALL , THEY WILL SCAM YOU by the way i got a call from someone at GSA today and told me they will install a new control board for $900 !! and a new system would cost $9000 the control board cost about $250-$300 and i’m sure they can get much cheaper and literally takes five minutes to replace . i don’t know why they want to charge almost $700 for five minutes of work?. and a whole brand new complete system by LiftGate cost only $2600 here is the link, [*** Link removed ***] time to install a complete system is about 2-3 hours but they want to charge $7000 just for labor!!! these people are scammers .

Terrible. SGA started the work, put up several cement bollards, they never checked with the Fire Department and had our large apartment complex red tagged by King County Fire. We were threatened with a fine, it was awful. We put the $15K deposit on a credit card, disputed the charge, wanted our money back as the gate was never installed, SGA lied to the credit card company and kept our deposit. We are suing SGA now, reported them to the Licensing Bureau, writing online and warning others of this bad contractor. The service was exceptional. A family business who cares about people, and provides a great product, is what we need more of in the world!

SG&A's owner (Mike) bid the work.  We ended up selecting his firm primarily due to their experience and design capability (they were able to "show" us what the gate design would look like with a simulated "picture" prior to any work being performed).  SG&A fabricated the gate based upon the agreed design.  We also had Mike orchestrate all the rural King County permits, cable/power line markings, electrical contractors, and trench digging (for electrical conduit supply) to the electrical supply junction.  Duke and David were his primary employees and appeared to be diligent in their work.

The completed gate was installed late April (about a 3 month process) and is working well.  They include a one year maintenance plan and will be out in six months for a service call to ensure all parts, components, and operational aspects are in strong working order.

While SG&A was the most expensive bid, I definitely believe we got a high quality gate that will last for many years.  We strongly recommend SG&A for your security gate needs.

Installing a gate in Pierce County requires quite an extensive planning process with the county, utilities, and Washington State L&I, and Michael Maggitti and his company successfully met every milestone.
I was especially pleased with their attention to detail and commitment to delivering a quality product.  Shortly after installation of the gate, we noticed some rust developing on a portion of the powder coated gate.  Michael decided to have the gate re-powder coated completely rather than just spot treat the problem.  This was a major undertaking on his part and spoke volumes to his commitment to delivering the highest quality.  We've had the gate in operation for several months now without a single problem.

They had been out a week ago for a problem with our security gate . I thought it was a major problem turns out it wasn't . They were fast, honest, and reliable . 5 days later I had a different problem with the gate, so I fell under their warranty and they came out to fix a completely different problem ,So impressed ! Initially, I contacted Tim K. via the SGA website. He called within a couple of hours and listened to my concerns about our security gate. 
When Tim came over to check the gate, he clearly and patiently explained the various functions. This included showing us how the gate was tied to one of our phone lines. He also tested and then had us practice using the various gate functions. Tim explained the type of gate we had (we are new owners of the house), how to maintain the gate and exactly how to use each function. 
After approximately 45 minutes, we were done and I asked him how much I owed him. He replied, "Nothing, we just hope to have your business in the future."
When our gate needs to be serviced, Tim K. will be the first person I will call. He was easy to reach, responded right away, was punctual, knowledgable, professional and friendly. We were very pleased with every aspect of working with Tim.

Beautiful gate - expensive but worth it.

All went very well except for some forgivable staffing problems that delayed completion somewhat. The finished project was a huge improvement over the original installation. The gate works much more smoothly than  ever which will probably save wear and tear on the opener itself. The quality of work looks to be excellent. The whole crew and staff were very conscientious and easy to deal with. Their lower bid was a plus also.

Security Gate and Access, LLC has highly technical expertise in the repair and operation of automatic gates. I have had my gate for 25 years...and over that period of time I have worked with several different gate repair and security companies. Let me just say that not all companies have the expertise they advertise. I chose Security Gate this time because of it's excellent Angie's List reviews.
Mike, the owner, listened to the description of the problem I was having. He was able to send Jake out the next day. Jake was on-time, professional, and was able to isolate and show me the problem within the Service Call time allotment. He ordered the needed control board.
It took a week to get the part and reschedule another service call. Jake returned, replaced the control board and was able to get the system working again. He is a real pro!  
I am impressed that Security Gate did not try to talk me into services I didn't need. They fixed the problem without saying I needed to replace the entire gate arm etc.
I also worked with Diane who is in charge of the office. Her billing and invoicing system works efficiently, and I had my paid-in-full receipts within minutes of processing my invoice.
If I need gate repair again in the future, I would use Security Gate and Access again.

All the people working on the gate from Mike all the way down the line were more than pleasant, even working in the rain. They were all competent, hard working and very knowledgeable. They always arrived when they scheduled and it really did not take very long to complete. The quality of the materials used and workmanship were only surpassed by their dependability.

I had to leave for the day and my gate wouldn't shut when it was supposed to. I called Security Gates and they said they would send someone out to look at it. It was fixed before I got home! Great Service, Thank you, the gate works better then ever. I would definitely use them again.

I was not home while they did the bid. I do not like the pricing but I plan on discussing that with them. They did present a thorough and clear bid. I had no problem scheduling the quote.

It turned out beautiful! I have received many complements on the nice job they did. Mike, was very respectful and patient with all my questions. He was always available to talk to or call me back as soon as possible. Communication's is my pet peeve with people and Mike gets an A+ with me. They knew how important it was to me, that I get my gate back soon. So they planned the timing and it was back within a week.THANK YOU FOR THAT! The guys that did the work were very kind, professional and did an excellent job. I would also like to add that I really appreciated the fact that they came in nice looking company shirts. It just makes you feel like they are serious about their work and they were. They made sure that my gate was perfectly lined up and working properly before they left. I am very happy with this company and plan on having them be my one and only gate guys now.I highly recommend them. Thank you guys!!!

Great - these guys were "on" - on time, on budget, on with communications, on with thinking and planning, on with patience as we took some time to determine what we wanted and when we wanted to do it.

I am critical of contractors and those who come to the house. Many accept good enough as good enough. Security Gates and Access, from day one, brought a consistent attitude and work ethic that good enough was base line, and they were better than that - and they are.

From talking out the system design in advance; to ensure it connected with our home automatic; suggesting solar power, and then revising the suggestion based on new information; to spending 20 minutes straightening the gates once installed to ensure alignment of less than 1/8th of a inch.

Courteous, present when there, communicative with daily contact during the process including updates on permits and inspections, follow up, no surprises - truly an organization and team I would recommend completely. Tim, Mike, Duke, everyone.

I contacted SGA and they quickly came out to assess the problem, provided a free estimate with options that would fit my budget.  Everyone I spoke with at the company was very friendly, professional, and great to work with!  They finished the job sooner than expected and followed up to make sure we were happy.  I would definitely recommend SGA and use them again in the future!

Mike, Duke and Diane are a very professional and competent team.  When I first contacted Mike about my gate motor not working (the power to the gate was working properly but the gate would not close), he was familiar with my gate (a 12-year old Door King) and dispatched Duke to come and take a look to diagnose what was wrong. This in an of itself was positive because so many other companies were not familiar with my brand. 
Duke came out in the driving rain and quickly assessed the situation, and brought the damaged circuit board to my attention showing me where it had "shorted out" (my words - he used more technical terms that I can't remember).  He gave me an estimate for replacing the board.  Darn those things are expensive.  I asked it the entire motor should be replaced as it has given me problems over the years.  He said no, it was perfectly serviceable for many more years.  This was the second positive thing about the company.  Many others have said that I need a new system, and a different one.  These guys know their stuff and don't try to move me to what they have in stock.
Three weeks later when the new board came in Duke called and arrived on time (again in the rain) and installed the new board.  He wanted me to test it and make sure I was happy and that it worked the way I wanted it to.  It did.
I am so impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, dependability, and knowledge that I am getting a maintenance contract. 

Mike was professional, and, when the installer forgot to install a piece of the gate, Mike ensured it was immediately finished. Very pretty manual driveway gate.

  He called for all of the locator services, permits and inspections. His team dug on either side of my asphalt driveway and used a mole machine to bore under the pavement. It got stuck the first time about 6 feet in and the operator had to come back the second day with cold weather equipment to finish the job. the conduit was installed and then the closers were installed. He was very good keeping me informed as to what was going on and the problems he was encountering on the install.
