RAU Construction (253) 377-3413 Kevin Rau This was the first room remodel I didn't do myself. We had some specific ideas for the kitchen I didn't feel comfortable doing in the time frame we had-( Done before Thanksgiving). I was referred to Kevin by a co-worker who has known him for many years. The co-worker understood my apprehension of having strangers in our house while we were away at work. I am in law enforcement and have been to calls for service as well as heard horror stories of remodel jobs gone wrong. I took my partner's advice and invited Kevin to do a bid on the kitchen. He was on time, polite and listened to what we wanted as well as our time frame. He measured the room and let us know he thought he could get the kitchen done before Thanksgiving if we could get all the large pieces ordered and on the way in time. I expressed my concern about having strangers in the house and Kevin assured me he had worked with his guys for many years-several of them had worked for Kevin's father-in-law before Kevin took the company over. Kevin provided me a fairly detailed estimate with the idea that there could be small changes in price depending on "surprises" inside the kitchen- It was a fair price and several thousand less than another company I had do a bid. I chose to have Kevin do the remodel and he told me the date he wanted to start. Kevin provided me some homework before he even started- I ordered cabinets based off a CAD drawing from the cabinet shop he suggested. They were very easy to deal with as well. I researched and selected the countertops and had already purchased all the new appliances. He measured the windows and I ordered them from one of his contacts as well. Kevin and his crew showed up on time the first day and went to work. Everyone was easy to talk to, professional, respectful and hardworking. They got lots done the first couple days and then started rewiring and plumbing. Kevin and his guys were ready when the cabinets were delivered. Kevin did all the scheduling and if something got a bit behind (like the tile floor), he took care of it so we were sure to meet the Turkey Day deadline. The kitchen went together smoothly. If I bought something (kitchen faucet) that he had factored into his estimate, Kevin provided me another invoice with the amount he had factored in for that purchase taken off. Kevin's experience with both construction and customer service was evident. He was always cordial and let us know what he was doing and what the next step would be. He let us know when we needed to order things so we were always a bit ahead of his installation. The kitchen and garage were swept and tidied up at the end of every day they were there so we never had to clean up their messes. They used plastic sheeting and carpet remnants to protect our other rooms from dirt and much of the dust. Kevin and his crew were GREAT! I would not hesitate referring Kevin and his crew to anyone who needed construction work done. They were true professionals; cordial, clean and respectful.
