Laminate Countertops - Install, Laminate Countertops - Repair, Tile: Ceramic and Porcelain - Repair,

About us

We are a Granite & Marble slab fabricator and installer that is locally family-owned and operated. We do all of our own work from our showroom in Puyallup and our fabrication shop in Tacoma. We provide the best customer service and quality around. Our customers hand select every slab through a wholesaler of their choice. This ensures that each customer gets the actual material they want vs. having to buy what what might be available through a competitor. We also bid per slab, not square footage. This ensures that you will get the very best look for your project, rather than piecing remnants together to complete the job. We are a custom fabricator, and never use pre-made material from China. We also have a selection of remnants to choose from for bathroom vanities or small jobs. The material is free. You simply pay for fabrication and installation. Our showroom offers one-stop shopping to take the hassle out of remodeling, and we have numerous top-notch, experienced contractors who we trust enough to recommend to our customers. Orca works with Royal Cabinets, a custom cabinet company, also in Puyallup, and a local hardwood flooring company. In addition, we have plumber and tile-setter to help customers complete their project. Our estimates are always free, we service all of Western Washington. No job is too small and we have lots of great referrals.

We needed a company who had the knowledge and skill to handle this project. We also needed professional advice on product and types of fabrication options. We interviewed several potential providers. There was no comparison between Orca and everyone else. Orca did everything agreed upon and all was done perfectly. The team was professional, courteous, and timely. The fabrication work was just beautifully done with exceptional skill. From the owner, to the office staff, to the installation crew, every single Orca person was great to work with - knowledgeable, helpful, and skilled. Orca is our only choice for this type of work in the future.

The entire process of working with Orca far exceeded my expectations. Personal care and professional service is a rare thing these days, but all of the people at Orca listened and took time to understand my needs and then met them. Wonderful experience!

The counter top turned out very well. They sealant they used is working well, counters are not staining at all. The owner had some good suggestions for style when he came out and measured. I am unhappy the company canceled on me for the installation date. I had to have them install counters when I was out of town, so I had to pay my contractor to be present during this process. Also they scratched my newly painted cabinets with the installation and some of the caulking is a little sloppy. But overall I am happy, but would consider other options for price if I were to use this service as well.

Although Orca's bid was slightly higher than other fabricators, we choose them because of their interest in our questions and what we felt were their knowledgeable and honest answers. The entire process was trouble free and went extremely well from our initial visit to the Orca showroom to the final counter top installation. Stephanie took the time to answer our many questions about granite and quartz and Corinn made scheduling the slab purchase and setting dates for templating and installation so easy. Hoyt White patiently answered our many, many more questions and both he and his entire fabrication staff as well as installers, Scott and Matt, were most receptive to our requirements; they were professional and careful in their work and produced a beautiful counter top for us.

To summarize:  fabulous from beginning to end!  I'm going to summarize this:

  • We visited the showroom in Puyallup and liked everyone's friendly attitude (but SO many choices!!..oh my!)
  • once we decided to go with Orca, the owner Hoyt meet us at the wholesaler in South Seattle, walked (guided) us through the myriad of slabs at the wholesaler, and we found a beautiful set from Africa
  • Hoyt's daughter then came and made templates for cutting the slabs from our existing
  • Hoyt's son helped us to decide "where" on the slab the countertop cuts would be made on the slab.  His skill is such that he was able to "bookend" our tops so that they flowed from one end to the other...really top notch!
  • The work crew came in, did a professional job installing (I had removed the old ones...my choice) and cut two pieces on-site (island and water faucet hole).  Lastly, they installed and glued the undercounter sink that we ordered, leaving it for our plumber to do the final hookup.
  • Through all this, Corrin and Stephanie in the office kept us all together on our schedules, appointments, and the invoicing.  Great job!

So with all that...it went just great!  We are very happy, visitors are very impressed, and the white tone increased our reflected light, helping to brighten our kitchen.

We initially contracted for new granite countertops for the kitchen and main bath. I met with the owner to select the granite; then changed my mind, and Hoyt graciously met me again at the granite yards to review my options and make a different selection. When I realized that there would be enough granite left over to use in the Master Bath, Hoyt made yet another trip to our house to make templates for the MB. Meanwhile the fabrication for kitchen and main bath continued.
The kitchen and main bath counters were installed first and went very well. The seam on the kitchen counter is barely noticeable because the pattern in the granite was matched perfectly. The installers, Scott and John, were very professional. Even though they had to carry the granite up some very difficult stairs, not once did we hear any inappropriate words from them. They always had a very positive attitude and good dispositions.
The installation of the granite for the Master Bath was equally impressive. Again, the guys had to go upstairs with the granite that was quite long, and had to turn some difficult corners to get to the MB. They carefully measured the granite and walked through the climb and the turns to insure they could make the turns without gouging the walls. There were a couple of glitches that occured; but the office was more than gracious in making sure that everything was fixed.
I would use this company again.

I had granite countertops put into two of my bathrooms.  In all fairness, I just stay that they did come out beautiful.  My complaint is that in the master bathroom, they cut the holes for the faucets too close to the backsplash so it makes the drain stopper barely functional on those two sinks.  The stoppers had to go to one side since there was not  enough clearance behind the faucet. The only option I had was to replace the entire countertop which would for sure damage my vanity since they would have to remove the current countertop.  I had been told that I MUST have the faucets on site when they came to install my countertops.  I did this, but the installers barely looked at them.  Had they looked they would have seen the configuration of the drain pull-up knobs.  Very disappointing.  My kitchen had been done by Precision Granite, and if I ever have granite installed again, they are who I will call.
Also, please note:  The 10% off countertop coupon on Angies list is ONLY for kitchens - not bathrooms.  This is very misleading for new customers.
Response from Orca Granite & Stone LLC
"(Removed Member Name) We are so sorry to hear that you had a problem. When we drill holes for the faucets, we are restricted by the proximity of the sink flange for the holes' placement. If we place the holes too close to the flange, or even go through the flange, the sink will crack. There is also the issue of allowing enough room for the plumber to attach the faucet nuts underneath. What has proved to be successful in this type of situation, is for us to cut into your drywall, and then inset the backsplash, which results in extra space. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment; Hoyt can come and determine the options available to solve this dilema."

Very happy with Orca.  We got bids and advise from 4 companies.  The pricing was good with Orca but the reason we decided to use them was their customer service and honest advise.  Everything was done on schedule with great craftmanship.  I would highly recommend Orca.

They are a family operation and have excellent prices. They have a remnants selection of granites which allows the purchaser to pay only for the installation and cuts. Their customer service is excellent, and while they are busy and it is hard to get on their calendar, once you are on there, they keep their appointments.

Orca Granite & Stone handled every aspect of the counter top install for us.  They helped us with selection of the material, the specific blocks, the type of edge and arranged for us to meet with the supplier for the sink and faucet.  Their patience with our questions and numerous visits was greatly appreciated.  When they came to measure for the install, they explained the whole process and the end result is simply superb.  They even took the time to explain how to keep the quartz counter tops clean and beautiful.

Orca helped me choose granite, a sink and backsplash for a kitchen remodel on a home we purchased.  I was extremely pleased with the time they spent with us to choose the materials that would best align with our design goals and budget.  18 months later We're still VERY pleased with the quality of their work and the beauty of our new kitchen.  They were professional, friendly and prompt and met our deadline expectations.

Danielle and Taylor were helpful in walking us through the steps in picking out granite.  Taking into consideration the measurements of our counters they advised us to not look for a large pattern in the granite and suggested that we stay in the A to A+ range for our project.  Once selected, they arranged for our slab to be picked up and worked with Royal Cabinets on the measurements needed for the counters and back splash (as well as a window sill).Danielle came to the house while the cabinets were being installed and made templates for the kitchen sink as well as the bathroom vanities.

We made arrangements for installation on 12/23 and it was completed on schedule.

After investigating many granite contractors, we finally settled on Orca and were very glad we did!  Taylor the showroom manager was a God send.  She accompanied us to a variety of granite suppliers to help us in the enormous decision of picking just the right stone that was within our budget and most importantly.....STUNNING. After the stone was selected, we met with Chad (the lead fabricator) to layout our countertop design so the most beautiful aspects of the Gazzon Granite was showcased.  He patiently worked with us until we achieved the exact look we were shooting for.  Even though they lost 2 of their lead installers during the course of our job, Orca never skipped a beat.  They quickly kept to their promised schedule by filing in with other installers and finished the job flawlessly.  Because we were also getting new kitchen cabinets, Orca was professional and courteous when it came to working around the Kitchen contractors schedule and work space.
All in all we couldn't of been more delighted with our kitchen remodel experience....which isn't always the case. But can be if you decide to choose Orca as your Granite Installer.  I always enjoy working with family owned and operated businesses and Orca is the perfect reason why.   Thanks Orca, we'll be back for our next remodel project!!
Warmly,
Shelly and Bob Raetz
