Orca Granite & Stone LLC
About us
We are a Granite & Marble slab fabricator and installer that is locally family-owned and operated. We do all of our own work from our showroom in Puyallup and our fabrication shop in Tacoma. We provide the best customer service and quality around. Our customers hand select every slab through a wholesaler of their choice. This ensures that each customer gets the actual material they want vs. having to buy what what might be available through a competitor. We also bid per slab, not square footage. This ensures that you will get the very best look for your project, rather than piecing remnants together to complete the job. We are a custom fabricator, and never use pre-made material from China. We also have a selection of remnants to choose from for bathroom vanities or small jobs. The material is free. You simply pay for fabrication and installation. Our showroom offers one-stop shopping to take the hassle out of remodeling, and we have numerous top-notch, experienced contractors who we trust enough to recommend to our customers. Orca works with Royal Cabinets, a custom cabinet company, also in Puyallup, and a local hardwood flooring company. In addition, we have plumber and tile-setter to help customers complete their project. Our estimates are always free, we service all of Western Washington. No job is too small and we have lots of great referrals.

To summarize: fabulous from beginning to end! I'm going to summarize this:
- We visited the showroom in Puyallup and liked everyone's friendly attitude (but SO many choices!!..oh my!)
- once we decided to go with Orca, the owner Hoyt meet us at the wholesaler in South Seattle, walked (guided) us through the myriad of slabs at the wholesaler, and we found a beautiful set from Africa
- Hoyt's daughter then came and made templates for cutting the slabs from our existing
- Hoyt's son helped us to decide "where" on the slab the countertop cuts would be made on the slab. His skill is such that he was able to "bookend" our tops so that they flowed from one end to the other...really top notch!
- The work crew came in, did a professional job installing (I had removed the old ones...my choice) and cut two pieces on-site (island and water faucet hole). Lastly, they installed and glued the undercounter sink that we ordered, leaving it for our plumber to do the final hookup.
- Through all this, Corrin and Stephanie in the office kept us all together on our schedules, appointments, and the invoicing. Great job!
So with all that...it went just great! We are very happy, visitors are very impressed, and the white tone increased our reflected light, helping to brighten our kitchen.
The kitchen and main bath counters were installed first and went very well. The seam on the kitchen counter is barely noticeable because the pattern in the granite was matched perfectly. The installers, Scott and John, were very professional. Even though they had to carry the granite up some very difficult stairs, not once did we hear any inappropriate words from them. They always had a very positive attitude and good dispositions.
The installation of the granite for the Master Bath was equally impressive. Again, the guys had to go upstairs with the granite that was quite long, and had to turn some difficult corners to get to the MB. They carefully measured the granite and walked through the climb and the turns to insure they could make the turns without gouging the walls. There were a couple of glitches that occured; but the office was more than gracious in making sure that everything was fixed.
I would use this company again.
Also, please note: The 10% off countertop coupon on Angies list is ONLY for kitchens - not bathrooms. This is very misleading for new customers.
"(Removed Member Name) We are so sorry to hear that you had a problem. When we drill holes for the faucets, we are restricted by the proximity of the sink flange for the holes' placement. If we place the holes too close to the flange, or even go through the flange, the sink will crack. There is also the issue of allowing enough room for the plumber to attach the faucet nuts underneath. What has proved to be successful in this type of situation, is for us to cut into your drywall, and then inset the backsplash, which results in extra space. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment; Hoyt can come and determine the options available to solve this dilema."
Would definitely use them again in the future. Was the best price around town. Very happy with it all.
Danielle and Taylor were helpful in walking us through the steps in picking out granite. Taking into consideration the measurements of our counters they advised us to not look for a large pattern in the granite and suggested that we stay in the A to A+ range for our project. Once selected, they arranged for our slab to be picked up and worked with Royal Cabinets on the measurements needed for the counters and back splash (as well as a window sill).Danielle came to the house while the cabinets were being installed and made templates for the kitchen sink as well as the bathroom vanities.
We made arrangements for installation on 12/23 and it was completed on schedule.
All in all we couldn't of been more delighted with our kitchen remodel experience....which isn't always the case. But can be if you decide to choose Orca as your Granite Installer. I always enjoy working with family owned and operated businesses and Orca is the perfect reason why. Thanks Orca, we'll be back for our next remodel project!!
Warmly,
Shelly and Bob Raetz
