On the next day, Friday, October 11, the sun came out, garage door opener would not work, I called them & they could not come back til today, Monday October 14, 2013, they would be here before 2 pm. At 2 they called to say they were running late. They arrived at 2:30, there were 2 men this time. I explained the problem, they said it was the eyes & they needed to be replaced. They replaced the eyes & all is good. The part I did not like was it took them all of maybe, 10 minutes, but I had already paid the man on Thursday to do the job, as far as I am concerned he shouldn't have been paid anything, he didn't do anything I needed done! He did not fix the door opener & refused to listen when I told him the problem with the sun! I called the office to complain, but got nowhere! The lady told me it often takes several trips to solve the problem, it was not his fault there was no sun that day. And they did not charge me the second $55 charge just to drive in the driveway, they only charged me for the eyes to fix the door! I may be old fashioned, but that is not how people used to do business! It has left a bad taste in my mouth, & I don't know if I will use them again. All beware, I guess this is what they all do!

"Dear (member name removed)~We apologize for any inconvenience this caused you, but please let us explain. Our service technicians are trained and have been with our company for 15 plus years and are knowledgeable and efficient. We try to repair the problem and not sell parts that may be unnecessary and more costly to the customer. Because your Genie opener was only about a year old we aligned the photo eyes in hopes that would correct the problem. When the photo eyes are out of alignment (which can happen easily with just a bump of a garbage can, bike, etc.) it causes the opener not to work. That is the job of the photo eyes to detect an object that shouldn't be there and not allow the door to work (such as an animal, child, etc) You called us back on a Friday and we were not able to get right out there and we are not open on the weekend. We try our best to get to a customer's home as quickly as possible and don't feel getting there Monday was out of line. We also try and give the customer a time frame we will be there, but because we are on the road we deal with traffic or being at a previous customers home longer than expected and we always call if that is the case. Again, we don't feel 1/2 hour after our anticipated time is out of line. We don't give a 4 or 5 hour window like many companies trying to make it as easy on our customer as possible. Again calling to let you know that we were running late and not just leaving you wondering. We charged a service call for the original work, however, we did not charge you another service call when we came back out. We only charged you for the new photo eye, which we had hoped you would not need. That meant 2 trips to your home, you were only charged 1 service call and the part we had tried not to use until we knew it was necessary. It was not the sun causing the problem or it would be the same problem with the new photo eyes. We not only replaced the photo eyes, but tuned and adjusted the door. It's not the time a job takes, but the quality of the work. We pride ourselves on good quality, affordable price and satisfied customers. We had a broken lift spring, could not open the door. My wife had just broken her wrist, so we were anxious to be able to get our car out in case of need to seek further medical care. After I explained the situation and asked for quick response, Lakeside was here in a few hours, replaced the springs and completely serviced the door.. Their representative was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were pleased with the service and will call them again if we have need for garage door service of any kind

I contacted three other companies on angies list and only Lakeside called me back. They came out and took measurements within a day or two of the call and had it installed within a week. They were very polite over the phone and in person. Two hours after getting to my house we had a new garage door. Lakeside was over two hundred dollars less for the same door purchased and installed than both of the big box stores.

Timely for the bid, we called the next day and booked install for 6 days out. On the work day the installer showed up early (about 15 minutes) and took all day, which is what they estimated. We had 3 different companies out and by far this was the best service and price!

The project went very well. The first service person who came out, looked at the situation, recognized that it was a bit trickier than he'd anticipated (I did try to give them a clear picture over the phone), and was up front and honest with me stating that the other service person, who'd had more experience with my situation, would be able to do it faster and subsequently, less expensively, than he would be able to. We rescheduled the appointment (I was not charged for the visit), and the second service person came out and completed the work very quickly. They were very professional and did an excellent job.

VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. CAME OUT VERY QUICKLY AFTER CALL RECEIVED THAT GARAGE DOOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. EXPLAINED THAT OPENER NEEDED A NEW MOTOR. GAVE THEM THE GO AHEAD TO REPAIR AND IT WAS DONE VERY PROMPTLY.
