Slow, long construction job. Sun room built mostly the way we wanted. Requested larger windows, they put in what they wanted. Slow to complete job, Jake was easy to work with, his brother an ***. Had water leaks the last two years during the wet season. Called to report with the company, no calls back. Considering small claims court to get repairs, sloppy work during roofing portion of job

Jake got back to me the same day I messaged him (which was July, 4th, btw...didn't expect an answer), and was able to come by to give us an estimate within a week. He showed up just when he said he would (even called to say he'd be 15 minutes late, which he wasn't. )We got the estimate the next day, which was very reasonable. I ultimately decided to go with a designer to oversee the project because I needed so much help with decor. We would definitely consider hiring again and hope they would be interested in our next project (building an addition in order to relocate our laundry room).

Contractors are busy these days so it took a while to get to our appt for the work but no longer than I think is typical for good contractors. Jake coordinated with my tenant and got to work on time, bringing in subs as needed. The work was done quickly but well and we are pleased with the outcome. Jake was very good up front at keeping us up to date on the plan and working with us to pick tile, vanity, ... beforehand. Probably the easiest work I've done with a contractor for a project of this size (and I've done a few). Overall I would recommend Bergman Contracting for general remodeling and home repairs of this sort and larger. There are a lot of contractors out there that are unresponsive, difficult to work with, unreliable, ... but I felt like Bergman was a pleasure to work with and went a long way to proving that not all contractors fit that bad description.

It was a long experience trying to find the right contractor to follow through on what I had wanted regarding my bathroom. I hired Jake Bergman because he explained a few things that I had not considered and also he came out twice to redo the bid because I hadn't understood some things regarding the terminology of what I thought I wanted versus what I was saying I wanted. Work started when he said it would, but took a bit longer, but I totally understood. Once a bathroom is torn down and gutted, building it back and larger takes time. What I liked most is that he really put thought in to some of the elements of the bathroom based on how it fit and how it would be used. I really appreciated that! Also, Adam and Rick showed up to work on time and worked the entire day. No looking at their phone every ten min or anything else, but doing WORK! I was amazed and this was a great experience. Especially considering this was my only bathroom! Thank God for good neighbors, lol! Let's talk about the end result: AMAZING! I giggle almost every time I get in my new tiled shower with the extra expensive shower head! Great experience and will look for them to do other work for my kitchen when I save up for that venture.

Jake called and told me when they would do the work. A couple of weeks before the work was to be done, Jake showed up to my house one day without an appointment with me. We walked through the work site and reviewed the work that was to be done and confirmed an approximate date for the work. Just before Jake was ready to go, He told me that the written bid price that he gave me had changed and he had to charge me $300 more. I was shocked be cause usually when a contractor gives a bid, they honor that price upon agreement with the bid. I told him that I would meet him half way and pay an extra $150, he didn't agree to that and wanted the full extra $300. He told me that he had made some mistakes when bidding my project and that he would be losing money if he honored the original bid that we both originally agreed on. I thought I was being more than fare by agreeing to meet him in the middle with the price. I decided at that point not to have Bergman do the work. I have never had this bad of and experience with a contractor before. I think this is a very poor way to run a business, and if this is the way they treat their customers, there business will not continue to thrive.

They were awesome. Got almost all of it done in one day. They are professional and prompt and are very good at communicating with their customer. The workmanship totally impressed my husband and he is picky. We would definitely hire them in the future and I recommend them for any of your construction needs.

Jake showed up exactly when he said he would. He accessed the job and came back with an estimate the next day. The crew showed up and did the work the day they were scheduled. There was a bit of confusion of what I wanted done and 2 days later he came out and finished the job to my satisfaction. He was very kind about the miscommunication which he took partial responsibility for, even though I think it was most likely me who was not clear. He was more than fair about the job and extremely professional about the entire contract and job. I would not hesitate hiring him again or referring him to someone else.

I would say I was highly impressed with their promptness on coming out to do a quote and I was impressed with their professionalism and what they said they would do and the quote itself. It was very good and I was pleased with it and I intent to use them as soon as I get my schedule straightened out. They were very responsive for their quote.

They were quick about giving a bid, we did not go with them but they were very polite. Their quote was for $ 19000. They were prompt, they came out quickly and they gave us a bid within a couple of days after they came out to measure and look at the details. We did not go with them because of the pricing. Price wise we had 4 bids and they were comparable with 2 of the others. They were on the high end.

They were professional.

Highly recommend J & C construction. They performed everything as agreed, completed the work on time and left absolutely no mess for us to clean up, including drywall dust. They were fantastic. The work performed was done correctly, without any shortcuts and on time. Very impressed.

During a wind storm, two of our fence posts broke and because we have two dogs and one cat, we needed to get it fixed fast! J&C came out the same day I called to give me an estimate. I called two other contractors and neither would come out to give me an estimate because my job wasn't a high enough dollar value for them. J&C was able to fit us in their schedule and fixed the fence the next week. They were carefully with our existing landscaping and it looks perfect! I will definitely use them again.

They showed up on time each day and went right to work. They were very informative of what they were doing. We talked to them about a couple of concerns we had, which made for some minor changes, which they took care of.

The project began meeting with Jake to determine the scope of the job. The day the project began chad came and framed the space so on the first day all the framing was completed. These guys know what they are doing. Then I wanted to make changes... They worked with me and handled everything with professionalism, I was the cause of any and all delays on this project. Everything came out better than expected, the construction is very sound and for what I had in my mind to be exceeded is an under statement. This room is totally secure, fortunately I was able to limit my change requests and the total project was successful in spite of me. These guys will work with you and make you happy in the end. I would have them do any future projects I can't handle on my own. Talk with them they really want the customer to be satisfied at the end of the job. I developed such a trust I let them have a garage door opener to easily work while I was not at home. Not for everyone though once you meet these guys don't feel bad when you trust them the way I did:-)

Over the last 10 years I've used 4 different contractors for various remodel projects. The Bergmans far exceeded all other contractors. They communicate clearly concerning all aspects of the project and have proven themselves to be trustowrhty and reliable. I plan on using them again soon.

This job took approximately three weeks to complete. I was concerned that someone might try to drive on my new wet cement driveway before it was ready to drive on so Jake parked his truck over night in front of my driveway. It's a good thing that he did because the porta-potty company decided to come by to empty the porta-potty and would have driven on the driveway before it was ready. This is the kind of people I wanted working at my house.

I liked their friendliness, receptiveness, and responsiveness. They got back to me pretty quickly. They had a willingness to work with me and work with my schedule. There was one board that needed to be replaced and they came out and took care of it right away.

They came out and spent the whole day as promised. The tile guy they have did an outstanding job, he was really good. There was a lot of cutting work involved and they did just an exceptional job. It looked like it was meant to be that way. They cleaned up every time and there was no mess. They set up everything out on the front porch so they could cut the tile out there. They did the garage also because we were so impressed. My wife and I would definitely recommend them.

I met Jake at the Tacoma Home and Garden show and he followed up with me right away. He was very responsive and kept me up to date at all times. He was totally competitive and professional. I appreciated his communications and I never felt worried at all, unlike you can be with a contractor. He finished the job on time, in budget, with quality and it looks absolutely beautiful! I would use this company again in a heartbeat and would recommend them highly.
