Took for repairs February 2020 and work completed. Set mutually agreed upon date/time to pick up. Owners Steve and Ashley) live 5 min away and Ashley stated she could come anytime. She was a no show. Their VM started if you have a repair to pick up to leave a message. Have left messages, text to Ashley some March and have never received a call. It’s been 9 months and the Governor lifted restrictions on small businesses. Even offered to pay by phone and have them leave the vacuum outside their shop- no response.

When the electric motor on my almost 30 year old Filtex central vacuum system destroyed itself I found Avenue Vac. actually open on a Saturday afternoon. We discussed options on the phone and then the owner (Steve) drove over to my house. After looking at the system he told me that he was confident that he could replace the motor and save me the expense of buying a new canister, etc. He then took my canister with him and promised that he would be back by Wed., afternoon.
He was back on Wed., with a new motor, seals, etc installed. This motor has double the power that the original motor had. Steve also came into my house and replaced one of the wall outlets that had worn out.
He only charged for one service call.
I much prefer using small local businesses over large companies, and Avenue Vacuum is just the type of business that I want to support. I will use him again if needed and would not hesitate to recommend him.

We went to the Seattle Home Show in February and saw the services for ducted vacuum for Clyclovac from Avenue Vac. We wanted this installed as we had just moved into a new home and it had the ducting done but no vacuum itself. We met Steven, the manager. He was very friendly and gave us a quote to install the vacuum an said he would do this himself. So we made an appointment for him to come to our place and install the following Wednesday. We ordered the vacuum, 2 hoses with hose socks, accessory kit and spare filter bags. On the appointed day, he never turned up and all calls to the 3 numbers I found in the business card and internet simply put our calls onto voicemails - no one returned our calls. On about the 5th or 6th call, we managed to get a receptionist and we asked her to check what is happening. We did not hear for a few days, so we assumed that this work would never get done and we started search for other providers .
Then a week later, as we are about to leave home for shopping Steven turns up unannounced and tells us he is ready to install, thus given the opportunity we stayed home and he installed the vacuum. He was friendly and the installation went well - he even was able to find some problems with the existing duct work and fixed these. Once work was done, we got the invoice. However, he did not have the second hose sock and the filter bags and promised to send these to us via express mail the next day, thus we just paid the full amount of the invoice as he promised these would be sent via express courier. For several days we saw no delivery and called and texted Steven. When reached him, he promised that they would be sent by the next day. - this is the promise he made everytime we called. We called approximately twice every month but either the phone is not answered or if Steven is there, he will act surprised and promise them to be sent the next day.
We called 2 weeks ago to follow up again as now the original vacuum bag is full and we need more. It was answered by a receptionist this time an we explained the situation and asked if we could talk with someone with more authority than Steven. Turns out he is the owner and there is nothing she could do. We asked that he call us back. Not surprisingly, we have not heard from anyone. The total value of the missing items is minor compared to the overall installation cost but the level of service and commitment leaves a lot to be desired and we wonder how any warranty issues would be dealt with. The time and effort to chase for the missing items is not worth the cost and we are now looking for other companies to supply he vacuum bags. This is a shame as the overall product is great but the poor service/commitment from the provider made this a bad experience.

AB Vacuum did an excellent job with their installation and also in explaining how my new system would work. I did have trouble shortly after moving back in because my downstairs vacuum wasn't working. AB Vacuum came out and discovered the problem was with worn contact heads on my downstairs hose outlets. Even though he didn't install the downstairs system the owner installed new outlets and only charged me 1/2 price for coming out. He even came out the same day because he happened to be in the area! He was polite, cheerful, and made me feel great. Hire these guys.

I was referred to Joseph by a local vacuum repair store. He and his tech came out the same day, at the time promised. It took about an hour to clean out the ducts and remove the clog. The system is 20 years old and has possibly never been serviced. Joseph recommended an upgrade to a new system (about $1400 overall) which I will consider in a few years (lots of other home repairs to complete). I was impressed by the same-day service.
