BEWARE and get any estimates IN WRITING if you choose to work with Sunset Electric. I needed to have a hot tub hooked up. No complicated wiring needed, all along exposed areas on the outside of the house, through a shop with an exposed ceiling, and up into the panel. I was given a verbal estimate of $1200 - $1600 for the work, which is in line with everything I have read and heard from friends who are contractors. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $3600 after the work was done. I never received a call warning me that it was taking longer than expected, and somehow they claimed it took 2 guys 7 hours (14 total charged hours) to do the work. When I complained, they reduced the invoice by $900, but it was still more than $1,000 higher than the high end of the verbal estimate I was given. I'm not a fan.

I was very pleased. The estimate was reasonable, they were very friendly, very professional and they arrived when they said they would. I will definitely use them again.

They did a great job

Estimation process was quick and flawless. The estimator was on-time, clean, well-spoken, and professional. He could have told me I needed a sub-panel since the main panel was full, but opted for a tandem breaker approach that saved me money and worked great. The permit was properly pulled and the technician showed up on time, clean, communicated well and was efficient. The job required a good bit of conduit run in my garage around corners plus cutting a bit of drywall. The drywall cut was very well minimized by the tech and the conduit was run and shaped to the curved - it looked excellent and didn't detract from the look of the garage. I tested the installation by plugging my car in at full charge rate and it went off without a hitch. I moved to the boonies from a big city down south and have missed the high quality contractors I had there - but Sunset was as good as it gets anywhere. I will be using them for all future needs.

I called to schedule getting a generator connection hooked up to the house on a Monday (estimate was done about a week or two prior).  Rich showed up early the very next day and had everything done in no time.  Very friendly and professional, stuck around to show me how everything worked and tested the generator.

They were good. They were personable and pretty thorough. They came back and fixed the issues that I had. They had the same price as everybody else.

Their staff is great, always offering prompt and professional service at a fair price. Most recently, they did a small job for us, which was to install a longer power cord to the fireplace insert in the LR. It was great -- well done, and many thanks!
