I brought in a landscaping company to regravel and finish regrading and so on.
I am confident that this will take the rainwater away to disperse in the back area as planned.
The work was done and paid for on the last day on site. I neglected to ask to have their advertised Senior Discount to be factored in until the next day. The response was that the discount was already factored in, it just doesn't show on the invoice.
Update 03 September: Budget rooter contacted me today, to apologize and attempt to correct the situation. The lady I talked to stated that had I called with my complaint (that the technician simply failed fix the problem) budget rooter would have come back and actually performed the work I had paid them to do in the first place. Hopefully this is true, and if anyone else has a problem with budget rooter I recommend calling their office and letting them know, because charging $150 to literally do nothing is completely unacceptable.
"We were called out to search for a leak. Upon arrival, fixtures as well as some walls had already been removed so standard leak search processes could not be performed (turning on fixtures, flushing etc...). Our technician proceeded to introduce water into the exposed piping in an attempt to duplicate the issue. With the home owner’s assistance, having her run water upstairs and our technician inspecting the piping below for water in an attempt to duplicate the leak, he was unable to see any signs of water seepage while actively searching in this capacity. While continuing the leak search, he observed discoloration around the toilet (which also had already been removed) and was able to deduct that there had been leakage from that area. That does not exclude that an additional leak could have been, it just did not duplicate itself during his investigation. During a leak search, very much like when a mechanic works on your car, a duplication of the problem needs to be seen and/or obvious damage in the area in order to assess the faulty part or piping. Unfortunately during this search, a duplication of the leak mentioned by [member's name removed] was not apparent. We did not receive a phone call or any other communication from the home owner at any time after our initial search. We would have been happy to continue this search in an effort to find and repair the issue, with the added information that [member's name removed] had seemed to find at a later time. This continuation would have come at no cost to the homeowner. Being unaware of any dissatisfaction until reading a negative review on Angi’s list, and not having the opportunity to address that dissatisfaction is highly unfortunate. We are here to serve our customer and will go to great lengths to insure their satisfaction. We can only do that, if given the opportunity to know that they are unsatisfied or that a problem exists. We will make contact with this customer and try to explain this to him. We will look for a remedy to this situation now that it is brought to our attention. Our reputation is worth so much more to us than a leak that did not duplicate itself on our first visit. We want this customer and all of our customers happy with our service. We would not be in business for so many years (since 1995) if we did not provide an exceptional service that we stand behind and give care and competent services to our valued customers. Update…September 4, 2013 We are thankful to have had the opportunity to make contact with [member's name removed]last evening. We want to hear from our customers and make sure that they know we are here for them, that we do care and that we stand behind our work. Our hope is that this was accomplished during our conversation. We apologized to [member's name removed]for not being able to duplicate his leak on our first visit and asked him if there was anything we could do to make him a happy customer. He politely declined any attempt on our part to do so. He stated that his problem was already fixed. We appreciate [member's name removed] advice to other customers to call our office with any comments they may have. We love to hear from you…good or bad. We are glad it is mostly good! Thanks again [member's name removed] for allowing us to communicate with you."
"Thank you so much for the positive feed back!!! We love our customers!"
The pipe and overflow had been fixed and they were gone but there was quite a mess of black water on the area directly under the drain they had repaired. I had no interest in getting them to come back out so I cleaned up the mess myself and did not bother calling the office.
They had said they would write up the findings. All I got was an invoice with the explanation and quot;No warranty due to root intrusion. While cabling overflow on tub it fell apart and needs replaced was leaking before I started but now is beyond fixable.and quot; What I find annoying about this is that I knew before they ran the camera that there were roots but what I didn't understand was that finding roots would negate any warranty and I expected to read something about the condition of the pipes.
I have no idea if the pricing was high, low or average. The only way to get pricing for plumbing is to have someone come out and give an estimate. Since I just paid over $1200 for 5 hours of their time, I think it would be prudent for me to take a day off of work, call a number of plumbers about a hypothetical drain clog and see what they come up with so that should this happen again, I'll have an idea of what it should cost and who I should call. I won't be calling these guys.
"We apologize for the time lag with this review and promise to check this site frequently to be more informed of the great things and any concerns that our valued customers may have. My plea to customers is please call us if you have any comments, good or bad. We can't address any issues if we are unaware of them and we love to hear from you. We share your comments and praises with our staff each week. We do make efforts to check up on customers within 48 hours but often we are reaching a voice mail. This call was determined to be a sewer line that had backed up due to root intrusion and replacement of a waste and overflow. We cannot warranty a rooted line as roots will continue to grow even once flow is restored causing future problems at some point that we cannot determine or control. The camera was introduced into the line at the customers request to verify the condition of the line and to see if immediate services were needed, ie: broken pipe, offset, belly or extensive root intrusion etc....It was determined from that camera that the line was compromised with roots and there for we could not warranty it. We restored flow to the line and replaced a faulty waste and overflow in the tub that fell apart as we cabled. It is unfortunate that [ member's name removed] did not feel she should call us to insure her satisfaction or to be heard. Our customers satisfaction is always our goal. Please help us meet that goal by letting us hear you. Thanks for the opportunity to address this."
