Our original house was built in 1999 in Chimacum with an unusual cedar finish. Mr. Stapf''s company built the new garage, guest quarters and connecting breezeway with an exterior finish that perfectly matched the exterior finish of the existing house.
The overall quality of the construction in the existing house was very good, but Mr. Stapf's work exceeded the old construction in every respect; especially the interior finish detail.
The final cost of the project matched the original estimate very closely. An accounting of expenditures was given in detail whenever requested; monthly if not requested earlier. There were no expensive cost overruns for change orders, although there were a couple of things that had to be altered. Mr. Stapf kept these changes within budget; unlike the contractor for the existing house, who charged many thousands of dollars for similar change orders.
The work was finished in a timely manner and met with our complete satisfaction.
In short, Mr. Stapf is an excellent contractor. He is honest, does what he says he will do, and delivers an excellent quality product.
