We bought a house that had a functioning alarm system that had never been used or monitored. We wanted to update the equipment and add a motion sensor and a monitored smoke alarm. We talked to several companies. We were not impressed by the big companies, which were cheaper up front but much more expensive for the monthly monitoring fees-plus required a three year contract. Although Intellisystems is a smaller local company, we decided to go with them. The owner, Gregory Weight, was very patient and informative, explaining all our options as we kept coming up with new questions over several weeks. They were unable to make their original installation appointment, which was inconvenient, but came through a few days later. The service guy spent six hours here, installing new equipment, checking all of the monitors on the doors and windows and explaining (very patiently) how the new system worked. Also liked that the company's basic monitoring charge is $25 dollars per month with no contract; other companies were significantly higher and more complicated.
